Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Victory is a manga series with artwork by Naho Ooishi (オオイシナホ) and written by Osamu Kaneko (かねこ統) supporting and promoting the Monster Battle Road series of games in which players battle each other's monsters through its card system; in particular, the manga launched alongside promotion for the Nintendo Wii home console port of the arcade game series, also titled Dragon Quest: Monster Battle Road Victory, released in July 2010.

The series ran for TBD chapters from the June 2010 through TBD issues of Shueisha's V-Jump'' magazine.

An additional one-shot chapter — "Dragon Quest Monsters+ Side Story" (ドラゴンクエストモンスターズ＋外伝 Doragon Kuesuto Monsutāzu Purasu Gaiden) — was published in the August 2012 issue of Square Enix's Monthly Gangan JOKER magazine.^[1]^[2]

Plot

バトルロードの聖地・竜神町にやってきたマサト! 友達の王者・リュータに憧れ、バトルを始めに会場に駆けつけるが、そこにはクイーンピサロと名乗る謎の女性が現れて…!? 大人気ゲームのコミックス化!!^[3]

The title of Dragon Quest Monsters+ can be broken down as:

"Dragon Quest" (ドラゴンクエスト Doragon Kuesuto): The overall franchise to which this manga series is a part of
"Monsters" (モンスターズ Monsutāzu): The sub-franchise to which this manga series is a part of; the "Monsters" series of video games began with "Terry's Wonderland" on the Nintendo Game Boy in 1998 (eventually making its way internationally as "Dragon Warrior Monsters" in 2000), and continues to this day.
"+" (Purasu): The appended "Plus" punctuation.
