Notes

Each issue of Monthly Shōnen Jump includes a comment from that issue's respective authors. Toriyama's comment in the 2007 No. 4 issue is as follows:

今回のマンガは、別企画用に描いたモノで、月刊読者の方には解り辛いかも。失礼。

This comic is something I drew for a separate project, so it might be hard for Monthly Jump's readers to understand. My apologies.
— Akira Toriyama

The Dr. Mashirito: Abale-chan title page was featured as the Dragon Ball Official Site's 36th entry in its The Nearly Complete Works of Akira Toriyama ongoing weekday column on the 11th anniversary of its original release in March 2018.[2][3]
