Why do the characters mourn?
This is kind of a silly question but I have always found it strange. When someone mourns it is because they fear that they will never see a person again. Now in DB, the main characters know that they will more than likely be able to restore their friends lives with the dragon balls, and even then if ...

Re: Piccolo’s loneliness
When I said he goes to their house to eat I wasn't focusing on the eating part, more the fact that he spent time with them when not training.
I forgot about this filler. I cannot recall if we see Piccolo eat. I recall Piccolo making a comment about Goku’s rude eating habits, but I cannot recall ...

Like I said, it is from filler, clearly not brilliantly thought out either. Not saying its a valid argument, just putting it out thereBlade wrote:

Re: Piccolo’s loneliness
I know this is sort of a none point, because it comes from filler, but in the three years in which they are training in preparation for the androids piccolo goes with Goku and Gohan to their house to eat. Chi-Chi states that this is a regular occurrence aswell. That suggests that he actually does ...

Re: Relationships in dragonball
My favorite emotional moment, though, involves Goku meeting his dead grandfather at Uranai Baba’s place. This was a real tearjerker moment. Unfortunately, Toriyama didn’t really develop this relationship much more. Goku spent so much time as a dead guy it seems odd that he was never shown visiting ...

Relationships in Dragon Ball
Just today I watched one of the final episodes of the Garlic Jr. saga and the diaglog between Piccolo and Gohan almost made me cry, I'm not afraid to admit....anyway I was just wondering which other relationships in the series make you feel the same way? and which moments make you feel like the ...

Re: Piccolo's intentions
What did he do on Kaio's planet that made him sound like he still wanted to rule the world?
Nothing that made him sound like he still wanted to rule the world exactly. Just the way he was behaving, Still talking to yamcha, tenshinhan and chiautzu like they were a piece of shit. It seemed like as ...

Piccolo's intentions
After being wished back by the namekian dragonballs and being brought to Namek, were Piccolo's intentions still to kill Goku and take over the earth? because when he was on King Kai's planet he still looked like he only had selfish intentions. Was it the fusion with Nail that started his path to good?

Re: How would you have done the Buu arc?
I'd still have Goku beating Kid Buu with the Genki Dama, but I would have Gohan on the sacred world of the Kais with him (maybe Vegeta arrived on earth before Gohan and he got absorbed by Buu instead)
Goku is the main character, so I feel like it was right that he beat Buu to end the series. But ...

What happened to Grand Supreme Kai?
When Buu gets to the sacred land of the Kai's he absorbes the Grand Supreme Kai and becomes the fat Buu that we know from the start of the Babidi/majin Buu sagas.
In dragonball GT, Mr Satan hides inside of Buu and the Grand Supreme Kai isn't in there. What happened to him?

Re: When Goku arrived on Namek (Power Level)
Since Kaio-ken is used for short, quick outbursts of energy, it seems weird that Goku would power up into that state and then stay in it for a length of time. A showcase of his power to Ginyu wouldn't be worth the strain on his body would it? That to me suggests that Goku didn't use Kaio-ken and ...

When exactly does Goku learn to fly?
Throughout most of DB and the start of Z Goku doesn't seem to be able to fly. There are a couple of occasion where it looks like he may be flying but it seems to be more of a high jump. It seems to me like he randomly just gained the ability to fly during the saiyan saga. Is there something I'm ...

As a series I don't think it got better post-Namek. But Gohans story arc, especially his fight with Cell, was the best part of the Z era imo.

Re: Piccolo training Gohan to conquer the world
I don't think he ever intended to do this, he knew Goku would come after him even if he tried. Also, by the time Gohan had gotten to a stage where he could be a useful ally in battle I think Piccolo had already developed a soft spot for him. But I think if this was his intention he would probably ...

Re: What would you change about Dragon Ball GT?
I would have liked way more of Gohan. At the end of DBZ where he becomes mystic (if that's what you want to call that form) against Buu he is just epic. To have some more of that confident cocky Gohan in DBGT would have been great. Pans character arc was a major let down. Goku (not as a child ...

Re: Is Tenshinhan an Earthling?
His character design is based off traditional Chinese vampires or "hopping ghosts", but he doesn't seem to actually be one, or at least nothing's ever said about it in the series or any supplemental material. I mean, if he were undead then you'd think this fact would come into play during the ...
