Here's an Amazon WEB-DL sync of Sleeping Princess, courtesy of ZeBenko (v1 and v2, FLAC only).
He was..... disappointed that you didn't credit him for the patching and sync to the Amazon WEB-DL that he did on the FumeiCom M&E which you used for your dub.

Re: How you found Dragon Ball, and what you thought it initially was
DB was already huge in mexico since early 90s. But my parents (catholics) did not allow me to watch the show because it was satanic.
Well there's a past I could relate to. Even though I didn't really get into dragon ball until my early 20s (because of an animation of the Angry Video Game Nerd ...

It's also in the States on Disney+ for people who also have Hulu subscriptions, for whatever that's worth. The rest of the Hulu DB content doesn't appear to be visible though.tinlunlau wrote: Fri Sep 20, 2024 3:11 am Well the Db Super Broly movie is on Disney+ in Asia so there's that to account for.

"ep 2-5"..... I meant to say 1-5 lol. Point still stands. Greece didn't use those masters.

If only you could edit posts here...
Taking a cursory glance of Greek recordings from the Pilaf saga, only ep 10 has that eyecatch. It might have been included in other episodes, but I don't feel like checking. Also worth noting that with the sole exception of the eyecatch, all the footage is ...

Re: Where is this title card or eyecatch from?
I'm sorry, WHAT?
I knew that the Greek dub took materials from Latin America for the Z dub, but I didn't realize they imported from there this early.
So basically in the early 90s Latin America produced a dub (Zero Y El Dragon Magico) that recycled the masters of the Harmony Gold dub (albeit ...

Re: Funimation's Early "Accurate dubs" vs their later work (Both DB and others)
The Movies 1 and 2 scripts follow the Pioneer dubs almost word for word. No additional lines or jokes at all.
They're close, but still a downgrade. IIRC the "then you'll know what Hell is really like" line was rewritten. Also Piccolo's "Goku, this time I'm gonna finish you up for good" line was ...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Arabic dub thread
I never could find an answer on this, but was the Arabic Kai dub any better than previous efforts? I know that dub got farther in the story than the Z dub did, actually finishing on the end of Freeza. I suppose I should also ask if the Super dub was (is?) any good.
I heard that Shen Long's ...

Unfortunately, it's not available in my area on the air. I'd need Philo or Frndly TV for it. Pity.
...also what do you mean, "Hong Kong Phooey" is E/I compliant? Also maybe "Heyyy, It's the King!" but I haven't seen that one, so. The other two ("Captain Planet" and "Histeria!") make more sense

I wasn't involved in either of these fandubs, but I have downloaded them and kept them around. Note that these are all audio only, and you may need to reencode them based on your specific needs.

If I recall correctly, the French and German Kai scripts were not based off the Funimation scripts. I can't really speak for any of the other European dubs though.

On the other hand, I'm expecting that Castellan Kai will be more consistent than Castellan Z ever was in terms of terminology. Doesn't Castellan Z have like ten names for the Taiyo-Ken/Solar Flare, for example?

So... not much different than the Latino Spanish dub..... or the Brazilian Portuguese dub..... or the Catalan dub..... or the Galician or Basque.
At least those last three didn't use the Funi scripts for Boo Kai on account of Funi having not reached there yet.

I didn't realize there was enough of a Galician population in Argentina to warrant Galician channels airing there. Wasn't Argentina the nation that aired the Castellan dub of the Z movies airing concurrently with Zero y El Dragon Magico?

Did the Producciones Salgado dub of at least ep 1-5 always have the Harmony Gold eyecatches?

Robo4900 did a lot of comparisons between the two English dubs and the Simmons/Mandelin subs for the original series...
They were done in 2018/2019, right? I worked together with Robo4900 on those. They largely stopped close to the end of the Fortuneteller Baba saga IIRC.

One thing I've been curious about was the scripts used for the Blue Water dubs. With Westwood Z, pretty much the entire thing is based on the Funimation Z scripts. With Blue Water DB and GT, it gets iffier. My impression for the former is that it mixed Funimation scripts, new scripts based on the ...

Re: Funi's redub of DB Movie 1 is "OG Dragon Ball Kai"
The biggest problem with Funimation's redub of the first movie is that they didn't redub the second and the third, especially because of altered dialog in the second that makes it seem more like it's a sequel to the Pilaf saga than Curse of the Blood Rubies (mostly in the implication that Goku ...

I thought all the fan recordings of Bang Zoom Super were taken from CN India (and maybe also CN Pakistan much later down the road) instead of Toonami Asia. If that's the case, it's even less likely you'll find Toonami Asia's TFC airings.....
