To be completely honest, I feel as if Beerus is still stronger then SSB Vegtio and merged Zamazu after this episode- purely based upon feats shown.

But Vegeta had also learned to become a God. Both he and Goku have the power of a God running through them so it makes sense that they can sense that power unlike Trunks who doesn't.

I personally believe that over the years, and due to the immense power acquisition Goku and Vegeta have acquired, that they are able to suppress their total energy to insanely low levels.

to be honest, for it to all make sense this is where powerlevels should be at for Goku:

Normal Base>Ss1>Ss2>Ss3> Godly base> Super Sayain Blue> Super Sayain Blue kkx10.

Goku fought trunks as as Ss2 and as an Ss 3.

Trunks was as powerful as him as an Ss2, thus forcing Goku to turn into Ss3 to one ...

Maybe Episode 47 will not be about trunks returning to the Super timeline.........maybe it will just showcase trunks trying to escape Black and Black rampaging his world? And the end of the episode he escapes with bulma dying..?

Are we forgetting that the super dragon balls are only in Universe 6 & 7.

There would be other "zarama's" in other universes, so he wouldn't necessarily be the final, be-all villian for the series.

Actually, we have Piccolo saying Kaioshin was stronger than him, but you could still argue he was mistaken or lying. Babidi put Kibito, Kuririn and Piccolo in the same ballpark and Dabra defeated them very quickly, while he had some trouble damaging Super Saiyan Gohan.
