Re: Why did Gero opt for energy absorption?
There is a humongous difference between both models in terms of power. You think so? I won't dispute that #17 and #18 are definitely stronger, but #18 in my eyes was only slightly greater than SSJ Vegeta, and perhaps only won due to the fact that she never tires. Although Goku was clearly weakened ...

Re: Did Vegeta ever know why Son Goku/Kuririn let him live?
Coming from someone who has really only seen the Funimation dub (ya I'm a terrible person), it was always my understanding that Vegeta knew Goku spared him out of his "weakness" for giving others a second chance. I can't think of any instances off the top of my head, but I think I recall V...

Re: Why didn't Cell absorb Future Trunks's energy?
True, absorbing Trunks would've maybe raised his PL, but he would've lost it all when he reverted to his larvae form. Darn time machines not being big enough to fit giant bug monsters!

Re: Why did Gero opt for energy absorption?
The energy absorption models in my mind are much inferior to the infinite energy ones. Ya they work alright when you have super powered warriors running around, but what happens when they're gone? I'm not exactly certain how they work, but it is my understanding that unless they find a source to rep...

Re: The eastern city.
I'd like to think so too, but if it wasn't with the wish I mentioned, then it wasn't period... as I doubt the Dragonballs were ever gathered off-panel like between story arcs or whatever. Every time the Dragonballs get used, it's usually a significant part of the story, and there's the year-long wa...

Speaking of auras, are they so strong that non ki-sensers can see them? I.E. could any everyday Joe see them?

Re: Fights with questionable victors
I was so let down that Kaioshin didn't ever seriously fight someone. His character design is pretty cool and unique, and the fact that he is basically the supreme god would kind of got my hopes up. Just like a lot of things about the Buu arc it was a great concept that just didn't really pan out.

Re: The eastern city.
Surely they were resurrected. I doubt the gang would let an entire city (or portion of one) of innocent people stay dead. Speaking of resurrected people in the db universe, I wonder what they think when they come back. Some people have been brought back at least twice, and I wonder whether they have...

What does Dragon Ball mean to you?
Not sure if this has been covered before as I'm new to these boards and the search button isn't working for me :/ but I'd just like to know what Dragon Ball means to you. For me, I grew up as a Toonami kid, watching the series back in the days when the show would run until the Ginyu Force arrived an...

Question on the dragon balls
In the dragon ball universe there are two sets of dragon balls that we know of, the ones made by Kami (later remade by Dende), and the ones made by the Great Elder. It is my understanding namekians who belong to the dragon clan are capable of creating dragon balls. I find it strange that only two se...

Re: Why do you think Kame-sennin didn't learn Bukujutsu?
Based on what was shown, it doesn't appear to be too difficult a technique to learn for anyone with a basic understanding of ki manipulation. If Chaotzu could learn it, so could Roshi. I don't understand why anyone wouldn't want to learn bukujutsu. Flying around would be awesome!

Piccolo Kami Conversation During the Tournament
I was recently watching the episode where Kami in disguise was taking on Piccolo, and I was wondering about the part where they begin to converse in what is later revealed to be namekian. Did Toriyama originally intend for them to be speaking namekian, with Z coming around the corner and already hav...

Re: Where would the Artificial Human arc have gone?
I'm not sure where the arc would have gone, but I really don't think 19/20 had the chops for being the main baddies. I also don't think 17/18 would've been great in that role either. Cell really brought everything together.

Re: Explanation of Rapid PL Gains in Z
While I believe that is true, most of the saiyan race was around what, 1000-3500 in power level? Very respectable compared to where the earth fighters started at, however I believe that the majority of the saiyan's power came to them naturally or through zenkais, and while they certainly knew how to...

Explanation of Rapid PL Gains in Z
Been browsing these forums for a while and really enjoy all the discussion. I think it is about time I contributed. I have been thinking a lot about how to explain the huge gains made by the Z fighters in their power levels. Watching Dragon Ball, the fighters are all very raw in terms of their maste...
