This pretty much applies to any series that's continued beyond its original ending...
I think late 20th century sci-fi proves this is not true. Star Trek and Battle Star Galactica come to mind. Both were brought back and surpassed all previous incarnations.
There's just a limit to how far you ...

Re: Torishima gives his opinion on Dragon Ball Daima and says he would make a Vegeta story
I was about to post it, but I don't like how he has been negative about Dragon Ball these days. He lost me when he said some years ago that there's nothing to learn from Dragon Ball. That's a lie. It's a simple story, but there are things to learn from it.
Some months ago there was a panel where ...

I remember when Rhymestyle said XV3 was already being work on pre-covid, and he has good connections with Namco Bandai. Meaning that they were working on XV3 probably around 2018.

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
The GT score is my favourite, followed by the Z Japanese score. I actually do like the Bruce Falcouner music too. I'm watching Super for the first time, and while I'm enjoying it, the music isn't really a stand out to me so far.
Super's music becomes great about halfway through, during the last ...

It will wane in popularity but still have a niche audience among retro media nerds.

They will at some point run out of nostalgia bait, they almost did it all, Freeza, Cell (with Super Hero), Buu and GT(with Daima) Broly, Fusion Reborn, Bardock, what more can they recycle at this point?

As far as we know, Battle of Gods and Daima were the only two stories he re-wrote from the ground up.
Tbh you're being generous giving it to BoG. It still sounds like a reunion special type movie before he came in. He changed all the details but the skeleton of the movie was not his.

This thread went from "Which is the best sequel?" to "Are Japanese people too stupid to understand the law on non-contradiction?" 😆

Re: Unpopular DB opinions
Funimation's GT soundtrack was basically one track playing at all times for 64 episodes straight.
That's just not a fair assessment at all. There are something like 40 tracks composed for it.
I encourage anyone to go back and actually watch GT from begining to end keeping in mind what you ...

Re: Should GT be remade at some point?
I just can't imagine what the point of such a thing would be. Almost all modern Dragon Ball stories are thinly veiled reskins of old ideas and it's been a disaster. A lot of GT's creative DNA is already in Super and Daima.

Re: Dragon Ball Refuses To Move Forward
I agreed with the initial thesis about everything since Battle of Gods being a thinly veiled copy of the old; a cynical attempt to repackage the old rather than genuinely pushing anything forward, and in the few instances it does push forward, it's not good, because its missing the production ...

Finished the Daima DLC. Disappointed with both parts tbh, but Part 2 felt crazy incomplete even though they dragged on the release. Idk what happened here, I mostly liked the rest of the main game and DLC.

I find the dub GT score to unmemorable for the most part, whereas GT's score is one of the biggest positives of the series.

Re: What changes would you like to see in DBS Remake
Realistically, I just want the Goku Black arc to look nicer and pace better. I don't think there's saving the U6 Tournament, it's too boring, and I'm convinced they'll ruin the good parts of the Tournament of Power if they touch it so I hope they don't even bother.

Re: Which was the better sequel: GT, Super, or Daima ?
I just don't agree that Daima came close to prime Dragon Ball, even in its character writing, which is what Toriyama is usually most interested in if Toyotaro is to be believed. When it feels like a legitimate continuation it's only because it's adapting guidebook lore, which is done rather sloppily ...

Re: Which was the better sequel: GT, Super, or Daima ?
I generally agree with what you said here, for the most part. All three of these sequels have aspects that I like, but unfortunately, for everything they get right, they get one or two things wrong that end up bringing down the entire product. I think the biggest issue facing a continuation of ...
