Why do FUNimation's DVDs suck? Because they use dated materials and try to mask their age with cheap filtering (edge enhancement, DVNR, color saturation and balance alterations), and on some releases used terribly deficient bitrates.

This has been bothering me for a very long time now, ever since I first watched DBZ on Cartoon Network in the U.K I always thought something seemed wrong with it's quality... for instance the colours were so dull and lifeless and the contrast seemed far to dark that you couldn't see some scenery ...

Link this YouTube clip then, because I know for a fact he says "4 1/2" and I own both the first Ultimate Uncut DVD and season 1. Can't be more verified than that. IMO, the whole "4 1/2" statement better ...

Nope Nam wasn't black in the original game either, he seemed to have light brown skin due to the player being able to see him on the GBA screen... same goes with that Bear monster with the huge sword.

What's an MPEG? Oh boy. In short, an MPEG is an electronic video format. It's what all DVD movies are actually rendered in.

Sorry that I sounded strange when I asked what an MPEG file was, since all my DVD's say the format is in AVI only... I'm not that good with file formats so forgive me on ...

Actually the English subbed Dragon Box bootlegs have the most accurate subtitles I have ever seen, with translated names such as Emma-Daio and Saiya-jin not to mention they wearn't actually stolen from a different fansubber... if I recall episodes 1-67 were the only ones which were accuratelly ...

I'd rather read edited Viz manga over watching badly-subbed DragonBox bootlegs, cropped FUNi releases, or DragonBox singles that are either overpriced, have overpriced shipping, or take about a month to get one volume of with decent price and decent shipping.

The flashback in the Bardock Special also has green sky. I'm wondering how it could have changed like that though. Only frame-by frame remastering would be able to change the color so much like that.

The same flashback in DBGT episode "The heard of the prince" also had the green sky in Vegeta's ...

I just watched the clips and I noticed how bad Funimation are a remastering, it seems like they obtained the original that they say would be improved yet they left all of the black dots and marks in it... which makes it really look like an anciant series.
