The dubs that didn't have the insert songs used the same regular Sumitomo track placements as the Japanese cut. I imagine the Japanese track on the French BDs and here on Disney Plus UK is the same.Yellow Flower King wrote: Wed Jun 03, 2026 1:54 pm Oh wow what does the Japanese version use? A dub opening?

GT, Super, Daima, Battle of Gods, Broly, and Super Hero too. All dub only except for Daima (since it simulcast on Hulu/Disney) and Super Hero (though the Japanese version is its own page for whatever reason).jjgp1112 wrote: Mon May 18, 2026 9:16 am If you have the Disney+/Hulu package in the US, Kai and Dragon Ball are on there too

Re: Dragon Ball Z Stream on Crunchyroll
The Japanese version primarily uses the Dragon Box masters, though the odd episode has Orange Brick footage squished to 4:3. The last few "seasons" worth of episode also have Dragon Box footage stretched to widescreen. I'm pretty sure the dub uses the widescreen US Bluray footage.

In light of the news of Kozo Shioya-san's passing, I hope they don't change so much about the story that they'll need to record too many new lines for Boo. That way they can use his original recordings like they did for everyone in the Fishman Island recut. Honestly, the same goes for Tsuru-san's ...

Re: Kōzō Shioya (Majin Buu) has passed away at age 71
I already shared similar sentiments elsewhere, but it's heartbreaking that another phenomenal talent has left us too soon. His performances as various Boo forms are absolutely legendary, and his chemistry with both of the previous Mr. Satan actors has been key to selling that character dynamic over ...

Here 's an Amazon WEB-DL sync of Sleeping Princess, courtesy of ZeBenko (v1 and v2, FLAC only).
He was..... disappointed that you didn't credit him for the patching and sync to the Amazon WEB-DL that he did on the FumeiCom M&E which you used for your dub.
Whoops, you're absolutely right. I ...

Such a tragic loss. He was a key figure in so much stuff I love, particularly DB and One Piece. 54 is way too young. My heart goes out to him and his loved ones.
I hope you rest well, Nagamine-san.

Sleeping Princess in Devil's Castle and Plan to Eradicate the Super Saiyans Full English Fandubs
Happy Halloween, all! It's been...well...a while since I've posted any full-length fandubs here. I've been dedicating this year to trying to tie up some loose ends in that regard as well as to starting a couple new projects that hopefully one or two of you will appreciate.

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" Dub Turns 15; Still Unreleased
For the record, there is no European Portuguese dub of Kai and the French dub was never treated as gag dub. It just had a bad translation of the text.
I'm talking about Brazilian Portuguese, which is in South America, not European.
Okay, but I don't think the Brazilian dub was treated as ...

Re: Heya! Son Goku and His Friends Return English Fandub 2025 Edition
Which version (English terms and Japanese terms) is which in the folder?
Both folders have a version with Japanese terms and another with Funi Kai terms. The distinction between them is which edition of the dub you'll get. One of the folders has the original 2013 version of the dub and its ...

Heya! Son Goku and His Friends Return English Fandub 2025 Edition
Hey, everyone! Over a decade ago, I put out a fandub of the 2008 Jump Super Anime Tour special. Well, I was going back over it, and there were some glaring issues with that old dub that I wanted to try to patch up, so I pulled a "Remastered Funi" and put together a new edition of the dub. I ended up ...

I actually watched the whole thing as it came out. After a few episodes, it's basically the same other than the aforementioned differences that Dragon Ball Ireland mentioned. Those first few episodes feel pretty breakneck though, and even resulted in some awkward music placements like when ...

Re: Dragon Ball Daima - English Dub: Stephanie Nadolny Returns
Just got out the theater. The dub is pretty good...but I'm sorry, Nadolny is still the weak link. Don't get me wrong, her acting has improved quite a bit (and the better scripts certainly help), but now she has another problem: to my ears, it sounds like she's having trouble keeping up with her Goku ...

Sure did. Well, the OP 590 half at least. I just checked and they did indeed put on Netflix US as part of the Punk Hazard drop.gokaiblue wrote: Sat Nov 02, 2024 8:05 pm Am I misremembering or didn't the One Piece x Dragon Ball x Toriko get an English dub recently?

If you have the Hulu/Disney Plus combo in the US, I have (what could've been) good news for you: it seems that with Daima now simulcasting, they've finally added all of the Dragon Ball series from the Hulu catalog to Disney Plus! Now you can watch episodes from the following shows:

Re: Do you suspect that the official Crunchyroll simulcast subs of DB Daima will use the Funimation dub names?
Probably, yeah. Unfortunately it seems to be the standard now.
I'd need to rewatch my Super Hero Blu-Ray to check the subs, but I do recall the US Broly release had dub terms, and of course now all English-speaking territories use Funimation/Crunchyroll's discs so I can't see that precedent ...

It...certainly is Stephanie Nadolny's Goku. I still wish Clinkenbeard had been given a chance to do a full series.
Oh well. At least I still have Nozawa.
