Re: Are There Any Updates On The Harmony Gold Dub Of Dragon Ball?

Hey guys, check it out! I commissioned vector artist HowXu on deviantART to make a reconstructed version of the Harmony Gold Dragon Ball logo as seen in the eyecatches, so that I can use it in my reconstruction project! It still needs some tweaking regarding the colour, but I think it looks really ...

Re: Which dub is more faithful to the original audio?

He doesn't have an entry in Herms' name pun guide, but I'm given to understand we don't actually know the intent behind the pun for certain, but we have some strong possibilities; the idea might be "Hire Dragon", as in he gives you the service of flying you where you need to go, it might be "Higher...

Re: Which dub is more faithful to the original audio?

Sorry for the double-post but I can't edit my original post anymore. I just remembered Z Movies 10 and 11 have a recently-resurfaced Philippines-based english dub by Solar Entertainment. If accuracy's what you care about most, from what I've seen, they're translated more literally than FUNimation's...

Re: Luis Alfonso Mendoza (Gohan's Latin Spanish VA) has passed away.

This is absolutely awful news. While I haven't watched a lot of the Latin Spanish dub let alone the Boo arc, I know how well-loved that cast is. As far as I can tell, the community has lost a wonderful talent to a senseless tragedy. It's even worse knowing that two of his loved ones were killed as w...

Re: Least favourite performances in your dub

I don't really consider the Z dub to be "my" dub since I don't watch it anymore, so I'll go with Kai for the Z material. By far the worst performances are Sabat's ReaCoom and Schemmel's Kaio. I'd probably give the edge to ReaCoom since that voice is more grating to me. I guess I'm just so used to Sc...

Re: What are your other favorite non-Dragon Ball movies/shows

I'm probably missing a LOT stuff, but here goes. Please note that this isn't in any particular order. Anime Series Fullmetal Alchemist (I like both, but '03 is my favorite non-DB anime) Evangelion Escaflowne One Piece (finally caught up last year!) Galaxy Express 999 (Thanks to Kunzait for singing i...

Re: Other series like DBZ Kai?

The closest thing I can think of are the anime compilation films of series like the Mobike Suit Gundam 0079 Trilogy, the Ashita no Joe film (or films? I dunno), Space Battleship Yamato (though that one could have been a reanimated reimagining like Galaxy Express 999 or Macross: DYRL, so correct me i...

Re: MangaUK announce TFC for UK!

Does anyone know the answer to 1+ 3 ? Lol The opening theme on the US sets is the international theme for Kai TFC, Fight It Out. I assume it'll be the same for this set since the UK releases tend to be based on the US releases. The commentaries are picture in picture with the actors in-studio. The ...

This is so sad. He was really good in just about everything he did. All the best to his loved ones and I hope he rests in peace.

Re: Kanzenshuu Members' Favorite Series (2019 Edition) ROUND 2/3

Mark me down for OG DB and Kai for this round! Already explained why earlier in the thread. Still like Z and Super, but DB is much better than Super and Kai is the more engaging way to watch the Z story IMO.

Re: Kanzenshuu Members' Favorite Series (2019 Edition)

1. Dragon Ball Kai This series did so much for me as a fan, bringing me back into the series after being a "just plays the games" fan for so long and formally introducing me to the Japanese cast in context with the series itself (I had only heard them in games up to that point). The reduced filler a...

Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai is coming to Netflix in Latin America (Both Hispanic and Brazil)

Is it possible that they'd redub 1-98 not only for cast consistency but to have an uncut version for the service? I know it's a long shot, but I bet a lot of people would be happy if they did that. Even though the Z dubs are good enough that stellar Kai dubs aren't necessary in those regions, it wou...

I make it: Itsu made sonna mittomonai kakoishiteiru tsumori da! Only part I can't work out is "kakoishiteiru", or it could be "ka koishiteiru". " itsu made sonna mittomonai kakko o shiteiru tsumori da! hayaku saisei shiro! " Translated extremely literally, it's "How long are you planning to stay in...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

It's going to be fun doing endless comparisons to the uncut dub, and having something like this for my kids someday will be handy! I should clarify that my intention is to upload only the bits unique to the edited version (alternate takes, censored scenes and whatnot), not full episodes from the Po...

Re: Dragon Ball Super To Air in the UK on Pop!

I wonder if any of our UK friends on the forum would be up to recording it so we can finally have the edited version archived. Fortunately, I have a USB Freeview receiver and find this kind of thing interesting. Get ready for censored DBS in glorious 544x576! Is there already an idea of what specif...

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming...

On that note I find it interesting Pop Max (who are Kix rebranded) is jumping straight from Kai 1.0 to Super. It may be a sign that there is no edited dub for The Final Chapters, which Ocean may dub edited if their Kai 1.0 dub does well on Kix. That would make an Ocean dub more enticing in the futu...

Re: Vic Mignogna

Like it or not, this is common practice in many industries. If the company cuts ties with an employee (or talent, or whatever) under acrimonious circumstances, it's super common for whatever projects they had in the works to be altered, shelved, or cancelled outright. It comes with the territory - ...
