Despite such, this is a much more interesting take than the rumors of AF that I've heard over the years and makes SSj5 seem like something more special than what most people would make it out to be.SaiyaMel wrote:My idea of a "DBAF" is the past/pre era - before before Kakkarot is born.
I'm also not much of a fan of these SSJ levels beyond 1 or 2, nor the insanity of power level increases beyond the Cell arc thing... It's a shame there's much more demand for such crap by the general fandom than there is for a pre-era Dragonball.

Well, new, accurate-looking DB is better than nothing...SaiyaMel wrote:My idea of a "DBAF" is the past/pre era - before before Kakkarot is born.

Most pre-DB work I've seen done by fans is just Saiyan history crap though, which is completely irrelevant to everyone besides Vegeta due to their destruction at the hands of Freeza. At least, these future stories still keep generally similar casts to the tv series.SaiyaMel wrote:My idea of a "DBAF" is the past/pre era - before before Kakkarot is born.

Yeah, don't look to prequels for fics starring characters that appear in the series...Neon Z wrote:Most pre-DB work I've seen done by fans is just Saiyan history crap though, which is completely irrelevant to everyone besides Vegeta due to their destruction at the hands of Freeza. It's pretty simple to avoid having Saiyans get killed off by Freeza: set the story years prior to the destruction of the planet. Not everything has to be what other Saiyans are doing during the time of the Bardock special.
But yeah, I'm guilty of making Saiyan history crap. Almost always starring an earlier Bardock and co. Even my current fic stars Bardock, Tarble, Onio, Nappa and Vegeta.

My pre-DB I intend to put some focus on Freeza's past and that of some other cast. I for one am much more interested in pre-DB stuff than post-DB...Neon Z wrote:Most pre-DB work I've seen done by fans is just Saiyan history crap though, which is completely irrelevant to everyone besides Vegeta due to their destruction at the hands of Freeza. On the fan comic I'm working on doing, is more OC(Original Character) related and I'm not sure if I'll even add Saiyans in it, the main character isn't one, that's for sure. I'm still not sure if I should attempt to add it to the timeline of the DB manga or just make it an alternate universe so I can expand on existing ideas and not limit myself to DB logic blocking the way of exaggerations and changes, hehe.

It wasn't working for me last night, so maybe it got fixed.
The post with closeups of Paikuhan and Trunks is about how Toyble corrected those drawings after people pointed out some mistakes. In Paikuhan's case, he forgot to draw his halo, and with Trunks he forgot to draw the torn-up patch on his shoulder.
Now the post with Tarble, Vegeta, and Nappa:
Vegeta: Tarble, we no longer need a coward like you. Never leave this planet again.
Tarble: B-but, big brother...
Nappa: Hey Raditz, can you hear me? There's no longer any Saiyan on this planet. How about you go look for your younger brother on Earth, Kakarot or whatever it was?
Perhaps something like this happened before Raditz came to Earth...
Then at the bottom he says he's fixed Vegeta's fingers, and apoligizes for making so many mistakes.

Yeah, it was almost directly after I posted it here it was fixed...JulieYBM wrote:It works for me.Eison wrote:There is something wrong with his site, but I can't read Japanese so I don't know what.
And there are two new pages
And why aren't the words that he draws like "doomm" (when Gohan goes SSJ4) translated anymore? Such as done on this page:

Page 113
Panel 2
Xicor: Early market fiscal specialization implicates segmentary vestigial impulses as the tertiary impetus for ambulatory systematics. Furthermore, the rotational aeronautics inherent in the clandestine exoteric rotisserie implicates quasi-Sisyphusian exegesis.
No wait, on second glance, he’s actually just going “Guwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!” My mistake.
Oh, and then in the third panel, he’s going “Daah!!!!”

Toyble also edited page 108 and 110 for the halo of Pikkon and scratch on Trunks shoulder but they aren't on www.desirecampbell.com yet.
And why is the quality of the pages from Toyble better as the ones from desirecampbell?
