Bonyu is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball franchise, debuting as a former member of the Ginyu Special-Squad in the 2020 video game Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
Biography
Bonyu is from the same planet as Jheece. She was once part of the Ginyu Special-Squad, but left because she hated the pose.
Name
Bonyu's name likely comes from 母乳 (bonyū) meaning "breast milk", continuing the ongoing pun series of items that would be stored inside a refrigerator, and extending the dairy-esque pun scheme of the Ginyu team themselves.
Production
Bonyu was designed by Akira Toriyama for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, with her design debuting as part of coverage of the game within the October 2019 issue of Shueisha's V-Jump magazine (released 21 August 2019).[1] That same day, Bandai Namco began promoting Bonyu's forthcoming inclusion across their social media channels.[2][3]
"Early access to Bonyu's training" was included as part of the game's pre-order bonus material in all territories.

For the twenty-sixth entry in his "Special Project: Toyotarō Drew It!!" monthly column on the Dragon Ball Official Site, Toyotarō provided a drawing of and comment about Bonyu:[4]
Bonyu. She's a character who appears in the game "Kakarot", which is out now. It seems she can use a Crusher Ball just like Jheece, who belongs to the same race!
