Three years have passed since Master Roshi sent Goku into the great unknown wilderness to complete his training. Now, with the fruits of his labor obvious in his new skill and power, Goku returns to battle for the championship he has so long desired. But little does Goku know that a terrible danger is lurking, waiting for its chance to strike.
Krillin's long awaited attempt to claim the title just might end before it really begins! Krillin finds himself eye to eye with the diminutive Chiaotzu. Krillin painfully learns that he is not only fighting to advance deeper into the tournament, but he is also fighting for his life!
Yamcha hopes that the years of vigorous training will finally pay off. Full of confidence, Yamcha steps into the ring against Tien Shinhan, a newcomer and pupil of the evil Master Shen. Could Yamcha's extreme confidence eventually be his downfall?
If confidence were money, Tien Shinhan would be the richest man in the Universe. A student of Master Shen, Tien was trained to be an assassin and bodyguard. Tien is serious, tough, and strong-willed and [sic] can communicate telepathically with his best friend, Chiaotzu.
Chiaotzu is the long time companion of Tien, his former bodyguard. His soft features and child-like exterior hide the awesome power buried beneath. He is capable of destroying much larger opponents with his psychic powers, powers he also uses to communicate telepathically with Tien.
The most dangerous foe is one with nothing to lose, and Man Wolf is a loose cannon bent on destroying Jacky Chun as they square off in the second match of the quarterfinals. For Man Wolf, this fight isn't about the Martial Arts title. It's about revenge!
Tournament veteran Jacky Chun is back! Jacky defeated Goku in the finals of the previous tournament in a battle for the ages. Jacky hopes to defend his title against the brash band of up and comers stopping at nothing to emerge victorious. What bizarre tricks does he have up his sleeve this time?
Master Roshi's students have suffered though [sic] his rigorous training for three years. Now the moment to put up or shut up has come. The kooky master knows the competition will be tough, but he never expected that his old rival, Master Shen, is entering his own students into the fray. Will personal grudges take over the friendly competition?
The world's greatest spectator is once again ringside watching her friends battle it out for the World Martial Arts Championship. But will she place her support behind Goku or Krillin? And what about her history with Yamcha? One thing is for certain; no one watches the action with as much fear and excitement as Bulma!
- NOTE: Jackie Chun's name is consistently misspelled as "Jacky Chun" within these profiles.
