The Dragon Ball GT Season DVDs are Funimation's boxset-style release of the Dragon Ball GT television series across two volumes, originally released in North America on 11 November 2008 and 10 February 2009, respectively. As opposed to the original single-disc DVD release of the series that preceded them, these boxes are labeled with a "digitally remastered" splash.[a]

These "season" sets are colloquially known as the "green bricks" (in contrast to the "orange bricks" for the Dragon Ball Z television series, and "blue bricks" for the original Dragon Ball television series). The original Japanese anime is divided into arcs rather than actual television broadcast "seasons," which do not actually exist either for the original Japanese broadcast nor the American cable broadcast of Dragon Ball GT.

Previous to this release, the first sixteen episodes of Dragon Ball GT were released as part of a sub-series of DVD volumes known as the "Lost Episodes". The original television broadcast and DVD singles featured an English-only "recap" edit of episodes 1 through 16 titled "A Grand Problem", which is not present in any form on these sets. New opening and closing credit songs were also recorded to more accurately match the original animations, entirely replacing the North American sequences from the original cable broadcast and home video release.

A "Complete Series" set was released on 11 September 2010, which combined both previously-released "seasons" into one set with no changes. Following the Funimation/Crunchyroll merger in 2022, Crunchyroll began re-releasing prior Funimation content with slightly updated packaging and SKU/retail information[1]; this updated "Complete Series" set for Dragon Ball GT is scheduled for release 14 February 2023[2].

Notes

  1. No extensive information is available about what exact processes Funimation used on these sets. Whatever it was, it appears to be a significantly lighter touch compared to most other Dragon Ball franchise products.
