"Dragon Ball GT Season One" is Funimation's first "season"-based DVD box set (of two total), presenting Dragon Ball GT television episodes 01-34 in a standard-definition (480p), "digitally remastered" format, originally released 11 Nov 2008 in North America. These "season" sets are both colloquially known and internally at Funimation referred to as the "Green Bricks."[1]
General Overview
Each green brick features episodes of Dragon Ball GT with a single video track shared across three language options:
- With English voices selected: an altered English-only episode title card is displayed; altered openings feature Funimation's logo and English credits; each episode's ending has English reversion credits unique to each episode's production.
- With Japanese voices selected: an altered English-only episode title card is displayed; altered openings feature Funimation's logo and English credits; each episode's ending has English reversion credits unique to each episode's production.
The opening theme uses its first and second animation versions (of two total), while the ending theme uses its first two animation versions (of four total). Funimation-specific credits are featured on the opening and ending animations. All eyecatches are presented in their correct location mid-episode. No "next episode previews" are provided. The English audio (with original soundtrack) is selected by default.
- Opening: "Bit by Bit, You're Charming My Heart"
- Ending: "I'm Not Alone"
- Ending: "Don't you see!"
- Eyecatch: (Giru, Goku, Pan and Trunks (v.1)
- Eyecatch: (Chichi, Trunks, Bulma, Kuririn, Goku, Mister Satan, Videl, Pan, Goten, Gohan and a dinosaur) (v.2)
Though the series is historically divided into "story arcs" in Japan, this release continues Funimation's branding of arbitrary "seasons" for a home video release, the delineations of which do not correspond to their own actual broadcast seasons from either syndication or cable broadcasts.
The "U.S. Broadcast Audio" uses Mark Menza's score and reverts the dub track to the 2003 Broadcast version (featured on the first run of home releases in North America). There is one difference between this version and FUNimation's original broadcast version; the opening and endings are restored with the original animations featuring English covers. The English opening and ending covers premiered in these "season" sets.

And [sic] when the Black Star Dragon Balls are scattered across the galaxy, Trunks gets his wish—for better or worse! He quickly becomes the backbone of the team, with his drive and sense of responsibility helping to balance out Goku's impulsiveness and Pan's quick temper.

- Techniques: None, but he has a built-in Dragon Radar and several other tools & gadgets

When Goku, Pan, and Trunks crash land on a strange planet, they find an odd little robot named Giru eating their Dragon Radar from the wreckage. The device becomes a fully integrated part of his system, essentially turning Giru into a walking Dragon Radar. Although he often cowers or flees in times of peril, Giru is fiercely loyal to his friends and will risk his own safety to help them.
After his "evil" side was purged and Babidi's control was broken, Buu was given a fresh start. He has spent his time adjusting to his new life with the help of his best friend, Mr. Satan. But Buu is soon called upon to help save the very people he once hungered to destroy.
Uub is the "evil" side of Majin Buu's spirit, purged and reborn in a human who is completely "pure of heart." Goku chose Uub as his successor and spent seven years [sic][a] in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber [sic][c] training him to defend Earth in his absence. Uub soon gets his chance, when Baby presses his attack while Goku is stuck in Other World with the Kais. [sic]
- Majuub
Uub's powers are no match for Baby's ruthless ferocity. To stay alive, he is foreced re-merge his spirit with Buu's. In a heroic decision, Buu sacrifices his own new-found life to be absorbed into Uub, forming a new being: Majuub. Although Majuub's power is much greater than the sum of his parts, it still may not be enough to stop Baby's rampage.
Enemy Profiles
One of Goku's oldest enemies (literally), Emperor Pilaf still thirsts for world domination. With his faithful lackeys, Mai and Shu, Pilaf gathers the long-forgotten Black Star Dragon Balls to wish for just that. But as always, Goku shows up in the nick of time, and Pilaf accidentally wastes his wish, transforming Goku back into a child. Though his devious plans have been thwarted once again, Pilaf's blunder sets off a chain of events that could have dire consequences for Planet Earth!
The epitome of greed, Lord Don Kee is the tyrannical ruler of Planet Imecka. The Imeckians are taxed into poverty by Don Kee's insatiable appetite for wealth. He is a classic bully: arrogant, selfish, self-absorbed and above all else, a coward. Don Kee never handles his own dirty work, preferring to leave the fighting to his lieutenants, Gale and Sheila. But when they're not up to the task, Lord Kee sends the deadly and mysterious Ledgic after Goku and the others.
Dolltaki can be summed up in one word: creepy. The man behind the bizarre Cult of Luud, Dolltaki is obsessed with dolls. And [sic] he can turn anyone he wishes into his plastic plaything. Luud, a giant mechanical teddy bear, is his greatest weapon, but in order to bring it to life, Dolltaki must turn his followers into dolls and "feed" them to the robotic beast. When Pan stumbles into Dolltaki's lap, his fascination quickly turns to the young Saiyan. He's never seen a doll as lovely as Pan, and quickly adds her to his disturbing menagerie.
- General Rilldo & The Sigma Force
General Rilldo is Dr. Myuu's top enforcer on Planet M2. Fearless and unrelenting, he has the power to control and manipulate all metal on M2—no small feat considering the entire planet is metal-based! His sole objective is to capture the team of space-faring Saiyans, along with their Dragon Balls, and bring them to Dr. Myuu. General Rilldo's top henchman are a mercenary team known as The Sigma Force. Comprised of Commander Nezi, Ribet, and Bizu, these uniquely powerful robots are called upon to stall Goku, Trunks and Pan from reaching Dr. Myuu's lab. They have the ability to join their metal bodies into a single, even more powerful robot called the "Sigma Force Cannon".
Dr. Myuu is a brilliant scientist who desires nothing more than total control of the galaxy. To see this goal through, he devises a plan to create the ultimate Machine Mutant, a being capable of conquering the stars in Dr. Myuu's name. With the birth of Baby, he gets all that and more. Prone to bursts of maniacal laughter, Dr. Myuu is cold and unfeeling, except towards his beloved creation, Baby.
Baby is the last remaining descendant of the Tuffles, a race the Saiyans nearly wiped out many years ago. With their civilzation's destruction at hand, the Tuffles put the soul of a single being into a seed and fired it into space where Dr. Myuu found it. Although Baby was "created" by Dr. Myuu, he definitely has a mind of his own. Cold, calculating, and bent on revenge, Baby's only goals are the re-establishment of his people and domination of the Universe.
