Zunama is a fictional character in the Japanese animated series Dragon Ball GT. Zunama makes his debut in episode 7, which debuted on Fuji TV on 20 March 1996, as a resident of Planet Calvo.
Biography
Zunama is an amphibious creature who lives inside Mount Calvo, an active volcano.
Name
Zunama's name (ズーナマー) is confirmed to be derived from namazu (鯰 ナマズ), the Japanese word for "catfish".[1] Zunama regularly punctuates his sentences with マズ (mazu). Men and boys often punctuate their sentences with the particle na (な) or naa (なあ); when Zunama uses mazu after na, he spells out namazu, the source of his name.
Production

Zunama was designed by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, the head character designer for Dragon Ball GT.[2]
Performance
Zunama is voiced by Chafūrin, who also voiced the Prayer Leader in Dragon Ball Z movies 10 and 11, and the Two-Star Dragon in Dragon Ball GT. In the Funimation English dub, Zunama is voiced by Duncan Brannan, whose roles include Murasaki and the Carrotizor Rabbit in Dragon Ball, Bobbidi and Shapner in Dragon Ball Z, and Doctor Mu in Dragon Ball GT.
