Suppaman is a fictional character in the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. Suppaman makes his Dragon Ball debut in chapter 81, published in the 1986 #31 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump. His secret identity Kura’aku Kenta first appeared in the 1979 one-shot manga Tomato, Girl Detective. Suppaman later appears as a recurring character in Akira Toriyama's 1980 manga series Dr. Slump.

Biography

Name

Suppaman's name is a pun on suppai, meaning “sour”, and “Superman”. Suppa Man’s secret identity is 暗悪健太/Kura’aku Kenta, a pun on Clark Kent. 暗/kura=dark, 悪/aku=evil, and 健太/Kenta is a common Japanese given name.
