Concurrent with and following its original serialization from the April 2000 through February 2003 issues^[1] of Enix's Monthly Shōnen Gangan magazine, a five-volume tankōbon ("collected edition") of Dragon Quest Monsters+ by Mine Yoshizaki (吉崎観音) was released by Square Enix under the "Gangan Comics" label. Each volume included a color dust jacket, which included a brief comment from Yoshizaki on the front inside flap. Volumes were priced at ¥390 + tax (as listed on their back cover), with a modern price noted as ¥429 tax included.

An updated shinsōban ("New Edition") was released by Square Enix in 2012, which the 2019 English translation from Seven Seas Entertainment is based on.
