- This article is about the 1997 reboot manga series. For information about the original manga series by Akira Toriyama, see Savings Soldier Cashman (1990 Manga).
Savings Soldier Cashman is a 17-chapter manga series written by Takao Koyama and illustrated by Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, with editorial supervision from Akira Toriyama.
The series serves as a reboot and continuation based on the original Savings Soldier Cashman manga series by Akira Toriyama, and originally ran from the June 1997 to December 1998 issues of Shueisha's V-Jump magazine (with one "Anime Comic" break in the October 1997 issue and one announced break in the October 1998 issue[a], picking back up against with chapter 16 in the November 1998 issue).
One volume collecting 13 its chapters was released in 1998, leaving the final four chapters uncollected outside of their original serialization.

Production
Similar to their work and credits on The Brief Return of Dr. Slump, and as listed on each chapter title page and collected volume release:
- Koyama received the "Script" (脚本 kyakuhon) credit.
- Nakatsuru received the "Drawing" or "Painting" (繪 e) credit.
- Toriyama received the "Original Author" or "Original Work" (原作 gensaku) credit, indicating his role as the creator of the original Dr. Slump manga series. He additionally received the "Supervisor" or "Editorial Supervisor" (監修 kanshū) credit; as a point of comparison, Toriyama received the same credit many years later for Dragon Ball: Episode of Bardock, which was written and illustrated by Naho Ooishi.
Of additional note regarding credits:
- Naoki Miyahara received the "Animation Director" (作画監督 sakuga kantoku) credit for "Anime Comic" adapting the V-Jump Festival 1997 animated special that ran in the October 1997 issue (between chapters four and five in the issues before and after it, respectively).
- Ken Abe (written in hiragana as けんあべ Abe Ken) received the "Script" (脚本 kyakuhon) credit on chapter 9 in the March 1998 issue.
The 1997 Savings Soldier Cashman manga was initially produced in full color. The series shifted to a standard black-and-white (sometimes in blue ink on white paper) serialization beginning with its sixth chapter, and remained that way for the rest of its run.
Beginning alongside the 7th chapter in the January 1998 issue, a special multi-page column called "Save! Fight! A Deep-Dive Into Cashman" (貯めろ! 戦え! キャッシュマン大研究) in the table of contents — but presented as a "Perfect Encyclopedia!!" (パーフェクト!! 大辞典) in the header of the pages themselves — followed each chapter until its fourth entry in the May 1998 issue. The column regularly reviewed the overall story of the series, characters, and even some behind-the-scenes production, such as a spotlight on Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru in its third entry.
Chapters
In line with the style established with the original Dr. Slump manga series, each chapter's title is followed by の巻 (no maki), indicating that it is the "volume" (or here "chapter") in which those events take place. This appendix has been ignored in the following chapter title translations.
Chapters that had an ellipses/interpunct series in their titles in the original V-Jump serialization had these marks removed for the collected edition. Chapter titles are listed below based on the punctuation in their original V-Jump serialization.
Releases
One volume collecting 13 its chapters was released in 1998, leaving the final four chapters uncollected outside of their original V-Jump serialization.
