Re: Kai Episode 77 (17th October 2010)

The music did not bother me. I didn't really notice it to begin, with.

The animation, just as I remember it, was splendid, right until the second half/eye-catch. I really despise the the weakest animation team. Sometimes it really takes me out of it. Especially when it's directly following the ...

Re: Buying DBZ figures off of ebay from Hong Kong

A seller being from Hong Kong does not automatically make their figures bootlegs. That's a terrible assumption, and should you should probably rid yourself of that mentality immediately. lol

This particular "Super" Buu looks beastly. I wanna see what he's capable of. In concept, he's similar to the Namek we saw much earlier, whom joined/absorbed all of his race.

Piccolo would like a word with you.
The word "Piccolo" isn't a pun.

But Toriyama intentionally puts down a word SIMILAR to it, and not identical. Otherwise, where's the "PUN" if it's literally the word?

Think about it.

Prime example is Tapion, whose name was originally Tapioka. Too close to the original word, Toriyama says.

Remember kids, it's not a pun if it's ...

Broly looks so sexy. He needs more specials, pronto. Or at least his own manga detailing his life prior to getting whipped by Goku, and his kin.

Hell, I may give the ol' fan-manga a shot in the near future.

Didn't I read somewhere Pan was originally planned to go Super Saiyan?

Anywho, I thought the accepted theory was post Super Saiyan born children had it in them, to go much earlier, and much less forced?

I already stated how that's not the case, and how Broly was indeed in control.

There was no leveling up through various USSJ forms. Legendary SSJ is Broly, and vice versa. It's a form all its own, which can not be obtained through any other means, other than being born with/into it.

And lacking ...

Gaining additional mass doesn't seem like such a big deal when you consider the Oozaru transformation...or even Piccolo's ability to grow that he used in the tournament.

This is true. I think the muscle gain is simply to demonstrate how "powerful" Broly is/was. It's an artistic/visual sign about ...

Yea. There's a lot of key (major) differences between the various "Ultra" forms, and LSSJ. They just aren't the same thing. Not even close.

Gohan's assistance was hella minor. They were rusty in battle. Gohan didn't inject any magic Sensu Zeni Power Up through their veins or anything.

The kids were already physically capable/superior to both Abo and Cado. In time, even without Gohan's assistance, the kids would have won, anyway (IMO ...

Doggy! :D

Hehe that's exactually what I thought Goku said to Yamcha and Krillin near the end of the special, as in Mr Satans dog Bee but it couldn't have been.

So in short it was just another way of saying Gi, as in the shirts the Z fighters wear according to my Funimation DVD's subtitles... heh ...

But Toei has a history of not knowing what they're doing when writing names in English.

History or not, this is the here and now.

Up until recently they've used the spelling Son Goku.

Yea, I can totally see how not putting a hyphen in between that can totally change the spelling, and meaning ...

As in script, I meant what was said by the VA on film. I heard Dogi~, and not another word like Dogi, that no one would notice if we put another word here, because we can't translate properly.

Wish I did have a script, at this moment.

Taku128 - The problem is, it's not all about the damned pun. The pun is still there, minus it being the exact spelling. It doesn't need, and according to Toei themselves, is not spelled to the letter (as the pun's origin).

Get off the pun crap. That's never how this was done.

Abo is not ...

Re: What's with the dogi!?

Nuff said

Seriously the subtitles in the new DBZ special made me sick to my gut and made my head hurt, trying to read them and then finding out that most of them wearn't translated properly ><

I wished Diamo did the subtitles for this special when it premiered online, and does anyone know when ...
