U-5 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) of uncertain authorship. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 9 which was broadcast on 23 April 1986.
Overview
U-5 is only used once, so it might not have been composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi, but its harp instrumentation is not atypical for Kikuchi's music, and the setting in C7, the dominant of the arc's main keys (F Minor and F Major), suggest it is entirely possible that he did compose it. It might also be a musical sound effect from the Hidenori Arai library. The piece is not documented on kenisu's Magicant.[1]
