"Dragon Ball Z: Saiyan Showdown" is the first volume of the Funimation DVD series called Dragon Ball Z: The Ultimate Uncut Special Edition. "Saiyan Showdown" contains the first three episodes. It was marketed as the first volume in "Vegeta Saga I" and released on 12 April 2005 in North America.

Each release features episodes of Dragon Ball Z with branching video tracks depending on the language selected:
