Dragon Ball: Volume F, the booklet provided to attendees during the theatrical premiere of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' in Japan, includes timeline information placing the film in Age 779.
The video game Dragon Ball XENOVERSE 2 also places the events of Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' in Age 779.

Age 779 is a fictional year in the timeline of the Dragon Ball franchise, during which Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F' and its retelling in Dragon Ball Super occur.

Almost everyone on Earth (with the exception of Son Goku, Bulma, Turtle Hermit, Kuririn, Tenshinhan, Piccolo, Son Gohan, Jaco, Whis, and Beerus) dies when Freeza blows up the planet in a last-ditch effort to defeat Vegeta. However, Whis uses his Temporal Do-Over ability to reverse time to before this event occurred.[4][8]
