M18 is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1986. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 12 which was broadcast on 14 May 1986.

Overview

M18 is in the key of F Major, but it has a short introduction in D minor, the relative minor. When only the introduction is used in the anime, the tonality is given as D Minor. The full composition is part a of the suite entitled "The 21st Tenka'ichi Budōkai", which is track #15 on disc #2 of the Daizenshuu.

M18 is given the title "The Opening Ceremony" on kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-101 based on its placement in the series.
