Age 749 is a fictional year in the timeline of the Dragon Ball franchise, during which Bulma first meets Son Goku.

Dragon Ball's story begins in Age 749.

01 September 749 Bulma meets Son Goku during her summer vacation, and finds that he keeps the four-star ball as a memento of his grandfather.[1]
02 September 749 In the morning, Bulma and Goku meet the Turtle Hermit, and obtain the three-star ball.[2]
05 September 749 Goku subdues Oolong and receives the six-star ball from a Granny Paozu.[3]
06 September 749 Goku meets Yamcha and Pu'er.[4]
09 September 749 Goku defeats Yamcha.[5] In the morning, the Turtle Hermit extinguishes the flames enfulging Frypan Mountain from a distance with a Kamehameha.[6] Bulma finds the seven-star ball among the rubble from the Ox Demon King's castle.[7] Around noon, Goku teaches the Rabbit Gang of Mushroom City a lesson.[8] The two-through-seven-star balls are stolen by the Pilaf Gang.[9] At night, Shenlong emerges from the gathered full set of Dragon Balls.[10] After looking at the full moon, Goku becomes a Great Ape[11] and destroys Pilaf Castle.[12]
10 September 749 Goku meets Kuririn[13] and Lunch.[14] Goku and Kuririn become pupils under the Turtle Hermit.[15]
11 September 749 The Turtle Hermit, Kuririn, and Lunch stay in bed sick with food poisoning from the puffer fish they ate the previous day. Training is delayed for three days.[16]
14 September 749 At 4:30 a.m., Goku and Kuririn begin training.[17] They devote themselves to their work for the next eight months.
02 October 749 West City High School's second semester begins.
