Taks is an EX Fusion of Tapion and the future version of Trunks in the Dragon Ball franchise. The character was a fan submission to a contest sponsored by Shueisha and Bandai Namco in early 2016 in support of "Dragon Ball Project Fusion" (the code name for what would later be released as Dragon Ball Fusions on the Nintendo 3DS),[3] and appeared in the final game as an unlockable character via QR code functionality.[4]
Biography
Future Trunks and Tapion's fusion. His sincerity and sense of justice remain as strong as ever, but it seems that when he yields his blade, his character changes just slightly.[5]
Name
Taks' name (タスク Takusu) is a clear combination of Tapion (タピオン Tapion) and Trunks (トランクスン Torankusu), in line with other similar combinations of character names for fusions.
Production
The original contest submission design by Yūmō Tomiyama of Miyazaki Prefecture in Kyūshū appeared alongside the formal character reveal in the September 2016 issue of Saikyō Jump. Tomiyama's design noted that Taks has green eyes, a two-part sword that can combine together, the Capsule Corporation patch on his jacket, and a belt; Bandai Namco's final design remained faithful to Tomiyama's submission. Alongside the character reveal was the QR code to unlock Taks in-game (provided the player had reached the third stage of the game).
Taks is character no. 1011 in Dragon Ball Fusions, and though he is an EX Fusion, he takes up his own character slot and acts as a unique, individual character; he cannot be split back apart into his two base characters.

Upon his initial unlock in Dragon Ball Fusions, Taks is level 30 and is equipped with Shining Sword Attack and Raging Rush SP. In total, Taks is able to learn:
- Shining Sword Attack: A variation on the attack Trunks used to defeat Mecha Freeza on Earth. Taks appears behind his opponent, takes a giant slice with his sword followed by several quicker slices at various angles, and finishes with a one-handed blast.

Taks thus far appears exclusively in Dragon Ball Fusions on the Nintendo 3DS as a QR code unlockable character. Due to the QR functionality being removed from international releases, he is only available through legitimate means in the original Japanese version of the game. Coding for the character is still present and fully localized in international editions (with the name spelling of "Tanks").
