U-105 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) of uncertain authorship. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 9 which was broadcast on 23 April 1986.

Overview

U-105 is very simple and used like an extended musical sound effect. Its harp instrumentation is not atypical for Shunsuke Kikuchi's music, and the setting in C⁷, the dominant of the arc's main keys (F Minor and F Major), might be suggestive of Kikuchi authorship; however its usage in Dragon Ball Movie 2 (1987) is an argument against, since Kikuchi scored the films to scene. It might be a sound effect from the Hidenori Arai library, or bank music. The piece is not documented on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,^[1] but it is sometimes called "The Harp of Sportsmanlike Competition".^[2]
