Re: What's The In-Universe Explanation For Why Strength Gains Were Relatively Puny Before DBS?
You assume that power levels are a linear scale. I don't think that this is the case in Dragon Ball at all

Re: How were you introduced into the franchise?
It was evening in the summer of 1999, I was spending it in the most “9-year-old boy in 1999” way imaginable; at a sleepover with friends playing N64 Smash Bros. Anyway, they started watching the show on Toonami and it was an episode during the Cell Games with Mr. Satan, so that being my first ...

Re: How were you introduced into the franchise?
Toonami, the episode where Gohan and Kuririn were spying on Freeza and his henchmen in the Namekian village. I remember being hooked instantly and the whole thing was really intense for me. I really liked the scouters and power levels too when those Namekian warriors came in and hid their power ...

It's defacto canon if everybody likes it and agrees that it is superior. Appeals to authority need not applyJackalope89 wrote:The outrage that a non-canon special is officially non-canon.

Re: Can I just ignore Super's existence?
As it's displayed in the title, can I just ignore that Super has ever happened? I personally don't think it does any honour to a DB continuity, nor do I think that it's how the events should have been displayed in case that there was a continuity... I just can't watch/read Super and figure it as a ...

Open world action game where you can get stronger and train and learn new moves would be amazing...so long as the combat is good

Re: How powerful is Piccolo and SHISAMI?
Of course, the real answer is that Toriyama and/or Toei's writers just don't give a fudge about power levels,
Let's not reverse the idea. It's not that Toriyama and/or Toei's writers don't give a fudge about power levels; it's that some fans give way too much importance to power levels. We were ...

I finally watched FnF. My thoughts:
Spoilers
It left me feeling a little cold. Perhaps my perception of the movie is different since I know that Super is coming and will likely retcon some of it, but I have a few complaints. I apologize if my thoughts have been covered before, but this is a long ...

Re: How does SSG work?
Well we know that SSJ1 is 50x base form, SSJ2 is 2x SSJ1, SSJ3 is 4x SSJ2, and it's my headcanon that SSJ4 is 10x SSJ3, and SSJG is 16 and 2/3 times SSJ3. SSJGSSJ might be 20x SSJ3. Why the random multiplier for SSJG? 16.66x SSJ3 seems odd.
It's something I came up with when trying to work out ...

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
Regarding SSJGSSJ(which I will refer to as GPSSJ "God Power Super Saiyan" because I think it's a more suiting name), I don't think it's going to replace SSJG altogether.
The way I've pretty much always interpreted it, is that GPSSJ is weaker than SSJG and is a stepping stone for Goku and Vegeta as ...

Re: canon
I don't think I ever cared about canon, not really. I pick and choose what I like and that's my own head canon. I don't have anything to prove to anyone about events of this series, it's a fictional series! I see it is important to some people, but I don't understand putting that above ...

Re: Official Announcement Thread & Discussion
So "Battle of Gods arc" and Revival of F arc" seriously do not even imply a retelling of some sort?
On the contrary, it acknowledges them as central events of their respective arcs. The series will expand on them, not retell them.
LOL you guys are really arguing about this? It's obvious that ...

Re: Super's manga by Toyotarō
The text is one thing, but the training is an entirely different matter. If you want to get technical, Trunks killed Freeza, Gohan killed Cell and the entire population of Earth killed Buu. Yet Goku is still fighting all three of them. It's not because they are all opponents that he gets the credit ...
