I think a more interesting discussion is why doesn't Freeza use the Psychokinesis Bomb, which is a tiny red energy sphere that goes into the opponent's body and allows him to control their body, then he can expand the energy to a point that will blow them up.

Because Freeza didn't want to kill him just yet. He wanted to torture Piccolo a little because he thought he was in total control of the situation and no one else could stop him.

I'm just kind of surprised Vegeta is fine with keeping his training methods so stagnant. I often get a chuckle when I see guys like Krillin, Yamcha, Chiaotzu, and Tien watching Goku's battles in Super against guys like Beerus.

I agree to some extent. If Beerus (vs. SS3 Goku) was stronger than My-Bulma-Vegeta, why bother to power-up? I would classify them as equals or Vegeta has a slight advantage.

Currently, I'm thinking about shrinking Monaka-Beerus' power to his weakest version, making it on par with Base Goku/Vegeta ...

There's no way the Death Battle kickstarted the series resurgence but it wouldn't be that unlikely that someone involved has seen it.

I also doubt Goku has been made so powerful because of it either.
