Hi I am Terez and I have bitten off more than I can chew. Please help me.

Oversight

Having been officially named as an administrator for this wiki, I do feel a certain amount of oversight responsibility, which includes recruiting. This is a huge project so I am always looking to recruit more nerds. Please forgive me for being overbearing sometimes; I feel a lot of responsibility for keeping standards high, particularly when it comes to people I have recruited personally. We have to keep our standards high or we are basically wasting our time here, and it is quite a lot of time we are wasting. Do what you are good at, even if it's the smallest kind of thing that saves time for everyone else. The fandom needs you!

I have dedicated a lot of time to little projects like wiki-wide search-and-replace missions for evolved Kanzenshuu spellings, series-long infobox additions (like the Viz chapter numbers), and reference corrections. My own approach to references has evolved but when it comes to translated material I have settled on a double-citation approach:

<ref>{{Japanese Source}}<br>{{Translated Source}}</ref>

In my opinion this approach is crucial for providing readers with all the information they need and I would like for us to use it even when translations are on social media. As long as the translation can be linked, please link it. If the Japanese cannot be linked, consider uploading a scan. (Someone on staff probably has what you need; if we do not have it, we can probably acquire it if it is important enough.)

Projects

These are listed in order of priority—not personal priority, but what I feel is the most urgent for the wiki as a whole.

Dragon Ball Super

Of all the people working on the Wiki I am the one who paid the most attention to Dragon Ball Super so this is my burden. During the latter half of Super I took it upon myself to organize the "spoilers" for upcoming episodes. That led to me keeping track of WSJ, Animedia, Animage, V-Jump, TV Station, the FujiTV website, the Toei website, the various promotional websites like AnimateTimes and Mocha News, Herms tweets, Kanzenshuu articles, etc. etc. It's a lot. I previously kept some of this information documented on the r/dbz wiki, namely the Tournament of Power and spoilers pages.

I'm making pages for Super episodes and Super-original characters along with related pages. I'm using the Synopsis section on the episode pages and the opening paragraph of the Biography and Production sections on character pages to document the ancillary sources mentioned above. For instructive examples, see Dragon Ball Super Episode 100 and Toppo. I would also like to add slideshow galleries for the promotional preview images we got; for an example of that, see Dragon Ball Super Episode 93.

Dragon Ball Heroes

I am trying to keep the basics of the SDBH promotional anime episode pages current as the series is ongoing: synopsis (from promotional summaries), summary, cast, staff, and infobox. At this time, I do not think I am the best person to create pages for Heroes-original characters. I am leaving them alone for now because their pages will need to revolve around their in-game roles, and it could also be argued that their manga roles are more important than their anime roles.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly

I would like to do a really detailed Promotion section for this page, and follow up with a Production section after we have a little bit more information on that process. I got it started, but I got hung up on some details regarding media presentation and I won't have time to get back to it until May 2019. There is quite a lot of interesting stuff to document for this page and I am looking forward to finishing it while the detail is still relatively fresh in my mind.

Dragon Ball Z

I would like to use the translations of the Daizenshuu episode summaries currently occupying the Summary sections (see Dragon Ball Z Episode 100) instead for the Synopsis sections, so that those summaries are documented in a way that serves a double function. These translations are old and each will need to be reviewed. Then, I would like to write more detailed episode summaries for each episode for the Summary section, similar to what you see on the manga chapters pages (Dragon Ball Chapter 1) or the Super episode pages (Dragon Ball Super Episode 77). These longer summaries can then be used to create better summaries for the Kai pages.

I have started this work on Dragon Ball Z Episode 1. I am also working on a Production section for this page with a gallery of animation production materials, with layouts stamped and marked as "Dragon Ball #154". Each episode will have interesting production materials to show, but I am trying to settle on an acceptable way of presenting these images before uploading them. This is a project for summer 2019.

Dragon Ball

Same as above basically, but I want to start with Z because that is an essential start to getting the Kai pages in order.

Dragon Ball Kai

When I started working on the wiki, there were no pages for the international version of the Majin Boo arc of Dragon Ball Kai, so I made pages for them. I differentiated between Dragon Ball Kai and Dragon Ball Z Kai, such that Dragon Ball Kai Episode 100 and Dragon Ball Z Kai Episode 100 are completely different pages. I also added redirects for 1-98 so that Dragon Ball Kai Episode 1 and Dragon Ball Z Kai Episode 1 are the same page. I added English title cards for 98-167 and wrote summaries for the episodes that do not have a one-to-one counterpart in the Japanese version. The Kai pages all need better summaries, but that has to start with Z. Aside from the summaries, this project is finished.

My next vision for Kai is to document the particulars of its production, particularly by way of comparison to Dragon Ball Z. I would like to have slideshow galleries for redraw comparisons, and I would like for each page to have a dedicated Continuity section for comparison with Z and the manga.

Music

This is the project I wish I had more time for. I want to port Kenisu's BGM tables to the appropriate episode and movie pages. I have started this work on Dragon Ball Z Episode 1. I would like to do the same for every major score for each series. That means doing Yamamoto and Kikuchi for Kai, Sumitomo for Kai Boo and Super, and yes, even Faulconer for DBZ. My opinion right now is that it would be fairly pointless to do this for scores that never got an official release, but I could be convinced otherwise.

I also want to score and analyze every track and document connections between them. This is what I am good at, so if anyone has time to help out with the above projects so that I can dedicate more time to this one, please do. But either way, I'll probably end up finishing the Super project and getting the Z/Kai projects well in gear before I really dig into this project.
