Dr-002 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dr. Slump: Arale-chan anime in 1981.
Overview
Dr-002 is the first of two BGM with the same theme, the second being Dr-014. Both tend to be used when different times of day or locations in Penguin Village are announced by the animal people in the village.
Form and Analysis
Dr-002 consists of two phrases of four bars each (counted in fast 4, about 100 beats per minute). A horn melody is doubled by a softer flute and accompanied by an acoustic guitar strumming chords.
