Lyrics in Japanese Romanized Japanese Lyrics Lyrics in English
Honki o warau jidai no naka de In the midst of an era where people laugh at earnestness
Kimi no sugata o gūzen mikaketa no sa I caught a glimpse of your form by chance

Waku-waku ga (Doki-doki ga) This excitement (This heart-pounding)
Kyū ni (Zutto) Has suddenly (Will Always)
Hajimatta (Tomaranai) Begun (Never Stop)

Kimi wa don’na toki ni de mo egao tayasanai With your small body, you taught me[a]
Chiisa na karada de boku ni oshiete kureta That I should never my smile fade, no matter what[a]

Sore ga kore ga honto no yūki That is, this is, true courage
Soko ga koko ga boku-ra no I•KU•SA nara If that is, if this is, where our battle will be
Nigenai yo tatakau yo… I won’t run; I’ll fight…

Egao o nakusu hōkago no boku Me, losing my smile after classes
Monitā no naka de kimi ni deatta no sa Inside a monitor, I saw you for the first time

Zuki-zuki ga (Tokimeki o) This throbbing (This pounding)
Itsu mo (Zutto) Always (I always)
Kowaresō (Mamoritai) Seems so fragile (Want to protect it)

Boku wa kurushii toki ni wa hitomi tojite ita kedo When I was suffering, I always closed my eyes
I•KU•SA Furikaeru toki ni kimi ga iru nara I•KU•SA But if you're there when I look back at the battle

Sore ga kore ga honki no chikara That is, this is, true strength
Soko ga koko ga boku-ra no I•KU•SA nara If that is, if this is, where our battle will be
Soshite kimi ga boku no chikara sa Then you will be my strength
Soshite kimi ni itsu ka miseru tame ni Then, so one day I can show you
Nigenai yo Tatakau yo… I won’t run; I’ll fight…
