K-135 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1986. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 31 which was broadcast on 24 September 1986.

Overview

K-135 is a short bridge piece. It is possible that it was originally part of a larger piece that was never used in full. It is given the title "The Monkey Falls Out Of The Tree" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.

Form and Analysis

K-135 begins in F Minor; a muted trumpet plays 3-2-1 four times, doubled by a flute that fades out quickly and ends on an augmented triad (V+ or C+) on the guitar, followed by a single timpani beat and a rolling snare. The timpani beat is electronically manipulated to bend upwards (from A♭ to E), as if the timpani were being quickly tuned up while it was still sounding.

Below is a table of every instance where K-135 is used in Dragon Ball. It is not used in Dragon Ball Z.
