K-226 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for Dragon Ball: The Legend of Shenlong. The film premiered at Toei Manga Matsuri on 20 December 1986.

Overview

K-226 is the first iteration of Yamcha's theme in Dragon Ball Movie 1. Its classification in F Major is somewhat tenuous; the piece never centers very strongly on F Major, and it ends on an E˚7 chord. Other iterations of Yamcha's theme are more solidly tonicized in F Major.

It is possible that K-225 and K-226 were written as a single composition, but as both were unreleased, and they are never used together after their debut in The Legend of Shenlong, we cannot say for certain. In either case, Kikuchi composed film scores to scene, so K-225 is meant to flow naturally into K-226.

K-226 is given the title "Yamcha Demands Capsules" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.
