Gohan flies through the air with the Dragon Radar, and eventually comes to the village and touches down. Gohan says Vegeta had definitely wiped out this village, and sets off to search for the Dragon Ball that Vegeta couldn't find. The radar says it's in the water instead of in a house, which he thinks is weird. He swims down until he gets to the Four-Star Ball and comes back to the surface, thinking the villagers must've hidden it there. Meanwhile, Zarbon is outside of Freeza's ship looking for Vegeta and is pissed that he must be hiding. Freeza, still in the ship, is yelling out through the hole and tells Zarbon that he better find him. Vegeta thinks it's great they're searching out there, and notices there's still only five Dragon Balls here. Vegeta thinks he can't escape carrying all five, and then comes up with a little plan.

"Hey!!! You've been tricked!!! I'm still in the ship!!!!" Zarbon and Freeza both hear this, and then Vegeta fires a blast down the hallway. Zarbon flies back into the ship, and Vegeta runs back into the room with the Dragon Balls and blasts a hole through the glass. Freeza and Zarbon try to go down the hall towards him, but the blast he fired left a bunch of smoke and debris. Vegeta then throws the Dragon Balls, one at a time, out through the hole in the glass. Freeza realizes Vegeta was going after the Dragon Balls, but it's too late. Vegeta heads out through the hole, just before Zarbon and Freeza make it into the room. Zarbon flies out of the hole and looks around, then wonders if he's still in the ship again. Vegeta is actually hiding behind some rocks, and then slowly gets into the surrounding water and swims away.

Vegeta dismisses it, since he's holding the last Dragon Ball and flies off after him.

"Vegeta Laughs, Freeza Fumes" is the two hundred and sixty-sixth chapter of the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the 1990 #15 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.

Summary

Gohan flies through the air with the Dragon Radar, and eventually comes to the village and touches down. Gohan says Vegeta definitely wiped out this village, and sets off to search for the Dragon Ball that Vegeta apparently could not find. The radar says it is in the water instead of in a house, which Gohan thinks is weird. He swims down until he gets to the Four-Star Ball and comes back to the surface, thinking the villagers must have hidden it there. Meanwhile, Zarbon is outside of Freeza's ship looking for Vegeta and is pissed that he must be hiding. Freeza, still in the ship, is yelling out through the hole and tells Zarbon that he better find him. Vegeta thinks it is great they are searching out there, and counts five Dragon Balls here. Vegeta thinks he cannot escape carrying all five, and then comes up with a little plan.

Freeza realizes Vegeta was going after the Dragon Balls, but it is too late. Vegeta heads out through the hole, just before Zarbon and Freeza make it into the room. Zarbon flies out of the hole and looks around, then wonders if he is still in the ship again. Vegeta is actually hiding behind some rocks, and then slowly gets into the surrounding water and swims away.

Freeza doubts Vegeta could have gotten far with five Dragon Balls, and says he will search for him inside the ship while Zarbon searches outside. Freeza tells Zarbon he will kill him if Vegeta is not found within one hour. Vegeta surfaces on another shore, and says they should have been thrown somewhere around here. And there they are, all five Dragon Balls right in front of him, and Vegeta laughs about his victory. He starts moving them all over into a corner of some rocks, and thinks there is only one Dragon Ball left to find once he gets the one he hid in the water of that village. Then he suddenly notices a strong battle power, and wonders if it is Zarbon. But it is not, it is someone weaker than Zarbon. And he notices it is Kuririn, flying excitedly through the air with the One-Star Ball. Kuririn does not notice Vegeta at all, and Vegeta wonders why that Earthling is here. Vegeta dismisses it, since he is holding the last Dragon Ball, and flies off after him.
