DeSpo FighterZ is a promotional e-Sports-themed manga series written by Hiroshi Otogi, in coordination with Bandai Namco Entertainment, which ran in Shueisha's bimonthly Saikyō Jump from its September 2018 to September 2020 issues, spanning 13 regular chapters (as well as one bonus chapter within the Jump Victory Carnival 2019 Official Guidebook). The series follows a group of young protagonists in a world obsessed with eSports as they attempt to become the ultimate Dragon Ball FighterZ pro-gamers. DeSpo FighterZ received two collected volumes compiling the full series in December 2019 and October 2020, respectively.
Plot
With the advent of the collapsible phone-and-tablet device, the Viewtiphone, as well as its attachable game controller accessory, the Battle View Cross, or BV-X for short, the world has been struck with a wave of pro-gaming fever. The profession of "pro-gamer" consistently polls as the most popular dream among young people. In this era, one of the most popular spectator games is Dragon Ball FighterZ, also known simply as FighterZ, and among the most famous FighterZ players is the world-renowned Shindo.
Mamoru, the young son of a candy company owner, dreams of putting together his own team of competitors for the national Team FighterZ Tournament. In pursuit of his goal, he recruits the hot-blooded Kenzo, and has personal interactions with Shindo as well.

DeSpo FighterZ was first announced via the official Dragon Ball video game Twitter account 17 July 2018 (with artwork from an advertisement set to be printed within the September 2018 issue of Shueisha's V-Jump magazine just a few days later), with the series scheduled to debut in the September issue of of Saikyō Jump releasing 03 August 2018.[1] The manga's publication coincided with the release of Dragon Ball FighterZ for the Nintendo Switch.
