"Son Gohan Explodes!!" is the four hundred and eighth chapter of the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the 1993 #09 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.

Summary

Cell, Vegeta, Trunks, Piccolo, Goku, and the Cell Juniors all turn and look at Gohan with surprise. Gohan has transformed. His hair has gotten longer and straighter, still sticking up, and the aura around him is filled with crackly lightning. "I won't allow this from you anymore." Gohan sternly walks toward Cell, and Cell is glad to see his true form. But Gohan just snatches the bag of senzu away from him, and then flies away. Gohan lands next to a Cell Junior, who is standing over Kuririn. It turns to attack Gohan, but Gohan just punches its head off. Everyone is shocked, Cell especially. But not Goku, he lightly chuckles, because he knew it all along.

The rest of the Cell Juniors fly toward Gohan, and he kills one, two, three, four, five of them, each with just one hit. The seventh one gets scared and tries to fly away, but Gohan flies after it, and knocks its upper body off with one strike. Cell looks very worried, while the others are surprised. Goku thinks Cell deserves it. Gohan tosses the bag of senzu to Trunks, and says to take care of everyone. Gohan lands next to Cell, and the two of them stare each other down. Vegeta thinks this is unbelievable.

-The two of them stare each other down, Cell pissed, and Gohan just serious. Trunks has fed Kuririn a senzu, explaining to him that Gohan got the senzu back from Cell. He tells Kuririn they need to get further away, although Kuririn is busy being awed by the transformed Gohan. Cell looks at Gohan and doubts he seriously thinks he can defeat him. Gohan says he can defeat Cell. Cell is surprised, but then smirks and says he'll show Gohan his fierce, true power. Yamcha has recovered now, and he, Trunks, Kuririn, and Vegeta watch from the cliff as Cell begins powering up. Everyone is blown back by it, with all kinds of dust blowing around. When some of the dust clears, Gohan hasn't moved at all. Goku says Cell is finally fighting at full power. Cell tells Gohan he's gotten serious now, but Gohan is unconcerned. Cell is surprised, but then he laughs.

Cell punches at Gohan again, but Gohan blocks it, and then delivers a hard blow to Cell's gut. Cell clutches his stomach for a bit, but then takes one hand to swipe at Gohan. Gohan ducks it, and then gives Cell an uppercut that knocks him back a bit. Cell is furious, with blood streaming down from his nose and mouth. Cell can't believe he's taken so much damage from just two punches. The TV camera is broken, but the announcer is still trying to call the fight anyway, talking about how well the boy is doing against Cell.
