Synopsis

He then easily pulverizes the Cell Juniors one after the other!! Vegeta and the rest are all speechless at Gohan's strength, and Goku watches on in satisfaction. Gohan chases after the frightened Cell Juniors, and finally wipes out all seven of them. Cell shows an angry face.
Summary
Part A
Son Gohan screams as energy courses all around him. Nearly, Cell smiles, pleased that he has been able to draw out Gohan's full power. All around him, the battle stops as both Cell Jrs and Goku's friends that are still standing stop to watch at Gohan's rapidly rising ki. Son Goku, Tenshinhan, Kuririn, and Yamcha all lay in the dirt, having lost their battles against the Cell Jrs, while Piccolo, Vegeta, and Future Trunks remain standing. Goku is pleased with his son't transformation, but Cell is unfazed and asks if that is really Gohan's limit. Cell asserts that Gohan has made the same mistake that Trunks did, by increasing his power alone.
Feeling as if the show is over, the Cell Jrs. resume their battles against Goku's friends. One Cell Jr. whips Vegeta around in a circle before tossing him away. Another knocks Goku down a cliff. Gohan's yellow aura begins to pulse with lightning. He yells for Cell to stop the battle. For the first time, Cell seems impressed by Gohan's rising power. He says that his new level will do nicely. As Gohan keeps growing his ki, his muscle mass increases and his hair stands more on end. Cell recognizes it as a new transformation and for the first time appears worried. The shockwaves from Gohan's transformation knocks back Mister Satan and his entourage, knocking out the ZTV signal and disappointing millions of viewers. At her home, Chi-Chi gasps and faints as the TV just shows static.
As the smoke clears, a new Gohan emerges: he is Super Saiyan 2! Electricity courses around him, his expression hardened. Rather than telling Cell to stop, he merely tells him that he will not put up with him anymore. Cell seems terrified as Gohan walks closer before smiling once again: things have gotten interesting! Gohan snatches the bag of senzu off of Cell so quickly that he is unseen. Cell moves in to attack, but Gohan has impossible speed. He races to the Cell Jr. that was hurting his father, knocking its head off in one blow and causing it to explode.[note 1] Vegeta is shocked that Gohan was able to defeat a Cell Jr in a single blow, while Goku looks on his son with pride. Gohan speeds over to where Kuririn has been knocked out by two Cell Jrs. One picks up Kuririn and motions that he will make a finishing blow, but Kuririn tells Gohan to take his shot regardless of what happens to him. The Cell Jrs. lose their nerve and flee, lobbing a ki blast down towards the stricken Kuririn on their way. As the dust clears, Gohan had managed to grab Kuririn and fly him away from the blast. He drops his friend off with Piccolo before killing the Cell Jr that threatened him in one kick.
Part B
At the Son household, Chi-Chi wakes up to discover the TV screen still showing static. The Ox Demon King tells her that Gohan was fighting magnificently when the screen went blank. She upbraids her father for calling her son's fighting "magnificent". He responds back that Gohan has surpassed his father and that the two of them are defending the Earth! He says that he too would be fighting if he could, but right now only Gohan can defend the Earth. He tells his daughter that the best thing to do is to pray for Gohan's success. Staring at the blank screen, Chi-Chi becomes enraged with her father and throws the TV at him, and then other furniture. Even if Gohan saves the Earth, how will he get into a good school? How will he become a scholar? Even if he beats Cell, she says, how will he compete in the real world? She throws her father through the door and out of the house, screaming for Goku to give her back her son.
Back at the Cell Games, Gohan descends as Cell signals for the Cell Jrs. to focus on him. Five Cell Jrs. attack him at once, but Gohan has no difficulty against them. The ZTV reporter (while dangling upside down from a tree) tries to tell the world that Gohan may be able to stand a chance at defeating Cell after all, as Mister Satan looks on and fears that his reputation will be ruined. Unfortunately, the camera has been damaged and they are unable to film.
Gohan, still fighting with the senzu in his hand, throws the bag into the air. While it is descending, he attacks all five of the remaining Cell Jrs. and defeats them all before calmly catching the bag again. As the Cell Jrs. look like they are getting up to attack again, Gohan powers up his ki and sends them all flying with the shockwave. Vegeta and Trunks are shocked by Gohan's new power. Piccolo helps Goku to stand. Goku boasts to Piccolo that Gohan's power was just as he said. Piccolo's face flashes into anger for a moment before looking sad. Two of the Cell Jrs. stand a fight again, the first one tossing a kienzan which Goku dodges easily. They then try a kamehameha and a makankosappo, but Gohan evades those as well. They try a pair of kikōhōs, but Goku still stands. More Cell Jrs. reemerge now, but Gohan is unharmed by the parade of special attacks. In a flurry of attacks, he quickly defeats all of them, knocking off heads and severing torsos until they all explode. Piccolo announces that Gohan has changed: he no longer has any hesitation, only a warrior's rage.
Gohan throws the senzu to Trunks to distribute before ascending from a crater to face Cell directly.
