As Piccolo lead Buu to the Room of Spirit and Time, Kuririn wonders why they would be fighting in there. Dende explains that even if Trunks and Goten lose, Piccolo could destroy the door, trapping them there in a different dimension. If Trunks and Goten die, then they can be brought back by the Dragon Balls. Kame-Sen'nin compliments Piccolo's thinking, as Yamcha wonders why Piccolo's leading Buu around in circles. Kuririn says probably to buy time, as one minute out here is six hours in there. Buu is getting impatient with all this walking, but Piccolo says his opponent is at the very bottom of this place. Buu protests that they were just going up...
In the Kaiōshin Realm, Kaiōshin notices that everyone on Earth has been killed. Goku can't believe that, and wonders if the whole Earth was destroyed. Kaiōshin says the Earth is mostly undamaged, but doesn't know what happened. Gohan can't hear them, and is getting annoyed, asking if this is over yet. Old Kaiōshin (still reading manga) says no, because Gohan has amazing latent abilities. Gohan stands up and angrily tells him to get his act together, unleashing quite a bit of power in the process and nearly blows everyone away. Gohan prepares to lecture him more, but suddenly stops and wonders if this "boiling up power" is really him. Old Kaiōshin says to sit down, and Gohan nervously apologizes. Goku thinks he's not just a dirty old man after all, and wonders just how much power Gohan has hidden.

Having been training for quite some time, Trunks and Goten are both very tired. As they catch their breath, they discuss how they've "risen over" Super Saiyan, but it's main weakness is time. They can only stay like that for five minutes, and then their Fusion runs out. Goten thinks they can easily beat him up in five minutes, but Trunks says that's no fun. Trunks has a better idea: First, they'll fight in their normal state, and then drag the fight out. They'll then become "Ultra Super Saiyan" once they get to the remaining five minutes, and easily beat up Buu. That'll be cool, and they'll get revenge for Papa, Gohan, and Goten's mom. As the two celebrate their "brilliant" plan, Piccolo suddenly speaks to them telepathically, talking directly to their hearts.
Back at God's Temple, Buu is starring at the hour glass, as the boys realize he's changed a lot. Piccolo says he's changed in every way, not just his form. He tells them to hurry and get into the Room of Spirit and Time; in one minute out here, you can get six hours worth of training in there. Suddenly, Chi-Chi walks out toward Buu, smacks him, and yells at him for killing Gohan. "Become an egg." Buu turns her into an egg, steps on her, and then goes back to starring at the sand. Goten starts to get angry, but Piccolo yells at him to stay put, because she can be returned to life with the Dragon Balls if they defeat Majin Buu, besides there's nothing he can do at his current level. Thus, they need to train in the remaining time. Trunks excitedly tells Goten they should train and beat up Majin Buu.

Piccolo says the schedule for their fight with Majin Buu has changed, and Buu is on his way right now. Goten freaks out and says they've just ended a Fusion. Piccolo says it's okay, because he's leading Buu around and buying time. There should be plenty of time for them to rest their bodies. It'll probably be another minute before they reach the door, which gives the boys six hours in there. Trunks thinks six hours is plenty, and Goten tells Piccolo he will be surprised to see how well they've trained already. Piccolo asks Buu if he wants to eat some food, but Buu yells and threatens to kill him. The boys sleep, until Piccolo reaches the door.
Inside the Room of Spirit and Time, Trunks complains about the bad food and water in here, until Goten starts training in the white space, so Trunks runs out to train too. Some time passes, and Piccolo is silently watching Buu stare at the sand. Videl comes up to Piccolo and asks how Majin Buu knows her father. "It's simple. Mister Satan is the only human to ever let his guard down around Majin Buu. When we were trying to accomplish things with mere power, Mister Satan, whatever his intentions were, chose to become friends with Majin Buu. As evidence of that, even when every Earthling was killed, Mister Satan was the only person he didn't kill. Even when he had been changed into a destructive monster like that, those memories still remained. His power can't compare to ours, but your father really is the pride-filled world champion."

Buu and Piccolo step inside, and Piccolo waits in the sleeping area as Buu steps out into the open space. Trunks and Goten are there, ready and waiting. They call out to Buu, and Buu asks Piccolo if that's them. Piccolo hopes for a miracle. Trunks is disappointed Piccolo will be the only spectator. They tell Buu it ends here, putting their thumbs down. Buu is getting irritated, and as they start the Fusion Pose, Buu flies over and punches Trunks. Trunks chastises him that they were obviously about to do something great, and tells Buu to stay put. "Fu..." Piccolo wonders why they're not starting out as Super Saiyan. "sion... Ha!!!" However, Piccolo is at least glad they've perfected fusing.
Buu is getting irritated, and suddenly screams that he won't wait anymore. He destroys the hourglass, and Piccolo tries to tell him that it hasn't even been thirty minutes yet. Buu then shoots a hole in the floor, and it goes straight through the temple out into the sky. Buu yells to bring him out, and Piccolo finally relents. Piccolo slowly walks Buu to them, and Kuririn realizes Piccolo probably intends to have Majin Buu fight the boys in the Room of Spirit and Time, away from everyone else.

Gotenks appears in a flash of light, and Buu remembers beating him up earlier. Gotenks insists that he's completely different from before, and Piccolo agrees that he does seem different. Gotenks flies over and kicks Buu, pummels him, and then Buu asks if he can attack now. Gotenks says to wait, and thinks Buu must be pretending to be unaffected. Piccolo thinks they're doomed...
