Dr-011 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dr. Slump: Arale-chan anime in 1981.

Overview

Dr-011 is a short bridge piece often used as a scene-changer.

Form and Analysis

Dr-011 features an oboe and bassoon melody over the harmony I-IV-♭VI+6-I.

Augmented 6th chords typically lead to the dominant; it is fairly uncommon for them to lead directly to a root-position tonic chord (rather than a 2nd inversion tonic chord which functions similar to a dominant). In this case, the transition is smooth because the melody ends on 5; the augmented 6th of the D♭ chord (B♮) leads to 5 of the tonic (C).

Dr-011 consists of one melodic phrase covering a total of four bars.
