K-69 is the Kanzenshuu catalogue number assigned to an unreleased piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1986. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 6 which was broadcast on 02 April 1986.

Overview

K-69 is given the title "Yamcha Comes Attacking" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.

Compositional Analysis

K-69 is entirely set in a dominant tonality, i.e. C7 in the key of F Minor. It is identifiable as the dominant of F Minor (rather than F Major) by the lowered 3rd (A♭), or the lowered 6th of C7, in the scalar motions in the trombone, xylophone, and violin. The piece is often used as a prelude to other BGM in F Minor.
