M704 is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) arranged by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball Z anime in 1989. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Z Episode 1 which was broadcast on 26 April 1989.

Overview

M704 is the second BGM in Dragon Ball Z that is based on the opening song (OP) CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA. Like most BGM in that group, it is transposed to F Major from the original key of E Major.

The full composition is part b of the suite entitled "Planet Namek, Along with Hope, Vanishes", which is track #12 on disc #4 of the Daizenshuu and track #16 on disc #1 of the BGM Collection. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-710 based on its placement in the series. Though it is the fourth BGM in Dragon Ball Z, it is the tenth BGM debuting after Dragon Ball Movie 3.

M704 is given the title "Peaceful Mood" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.
