M714 is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball Z anime in 1989. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Z Episode 1 which was broadcast on 26 April 1989.

Overview

M714 is the first iteration of the Son Gohan theme in Dragon Ball Z. The full composition is part b of the suite entitled "Gohan's Theme", which is track #10 on disc #1 of the BGM Collection. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-714 based on its placement in the series. Though it is the eighth BGM in Dragon Ball Z, it is the fourteenth BGM debuting after Dragon Ball Movie 3.

M714 is given the title "Gohan's First Scene" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.
