M717 is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball Z anime in 1989. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Z Episode 1 which was broadcast on 26 April 1989.

Overview

M717 is the fourth iteration of the Son Gohan theme in Dragon Ball Z. The full composition is part c of the suite entitled "Gohan's Theme", which is track #10 on disc #1 of the BGM Collection. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-717 based on its placement in the series. Though it is the eleventh BGM in Dragon Ball Z, it is the seventeenth BGM debuting after Dragon Ball Movie 3.

M717 is given the title "Gohan Wants His Hat Back!" on The Suburbs of kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions.
