“Dragon Ball Super” Twitter Countdown: 5 Days

The official Twitter account for Dragon Ball Super has started a daily countdown leading up to the series’ debut 05 July 2015. Today’s entry, with five days to go until the premiere, teases the “Super Start Guide” coming from Shueisha and V-Jump this weekend:

5 days left until “Dragon Ball Super” starts its broadcast on July 5th! The V-Jump special edition “Dragon Ball Super: Super Start Guide” goes on sale July 3rd! Gotta check it out before the anime begins! (S)

The “Super Start Guide” for Dragon Ball Super will contain information on the “mysterious characters” (one of whom we know is “Champa”), will include a “super comment” from Akira Toriyama, as well as more information about the series’ production. The guide will also come packed with a Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan (SSGSS) Son Goku card (GDPJ-06) for the arcade version of Dragon Ball Heroes.

The V-Jump Special Edition: TV Animation “Dragon Ball Super” Super Start Guide will hit magazine stands in Japan 03 July 2015 for ¥750. Copies are available to pre-order from CDJapan and Amazon Japan.

Dragon Ball Super, which begins airing 05 July 2015 on Fuji TV, is the first all-new TV series for the franchise in 18 years. The story and characters will be developed by original manga author Akira Toriyama, will star veteran voice actress Masako Nozawa, and will be directed by Kimitoshi Chioka. The series will, “…follow the aftermath of Goku’s fierce battle with Majin Boo, as he attempts to maintain earth’s fragile peace.” A manga adaptation from “Toyotarō” will run each month in V-Jump starting with this month’s August 2015 issue.
