Theme Guide
Ending Themes
Listed below are all of the ending themes used for the Dragon Ball franchise, including both the movies and TV series’. The themes are listed by series and then in order of appearance. The basic information for each theme has been listed, although a more detailed look at each theme is available by clicking the theme title.
As you can probably tell, there were by far more ending themes used than opening themes. This is mostly because while each movie used a widescreen version of its respective TV series opening theme, the majority of the movies received their own ending theme and animation. However, by today’s standards the TV series’ still have very few ending themes, as most anime these days change ending themes and animation almost every 10-15 episodes. Dragon Ball GT is the only series of the three that comes close to today’s anime. In fact, although it was the shortest series with only 64 episodes, it has more ending themes than Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z combined.
The ending themes for the recent Jump Anime Tour special and Dragon Ball Kai are the first new ending themes to the series’ since Dragon Ball GT ended in 1997. At this time there has still been no official release of the Jump Super Anime Tour special ending theme, “Orange Hero”.
