Summary
Summary
Goku warns Vegeta that since he's dead he can't die again, or else he'll disappear from both the living world and the afterlife, and cease to exist at all. Vegeta powers up to Super Saiyan 2 and flies over toward Buu, starting out with a huge ki blast that destroys Buu from the waist down. Vegeta then lets off a flurry of blasts, and Goku thinks he'll definitely have his one minute at this rate. As Vegeta is still letting off his flurry of blasts, Buu reforms behind him and knocks Vegeta down to the ground, hard. Vegeta holds his head in pain, which is bleeding a bit, but Buu comes over and kicks him into the air, then punches Vegeta once, twice, a headbutt, and then pummels him. Vegeta can't believe how incredibly fast and hard Buu's attacks are, and that Kakarrot was able to fight someone like this.
Vegeta starts up a narration. "So it has begun at last... The final battle, with the fate of the entire universe at stake...!!" Boo flies at Goku, but Goku fires a Kamehameha, obliterating Boo from the waist down. Boo quickly restores himself, but immediately afterwards, Goku gets behind him and knocks him down toward the ground. Boo blows himself into a parachute shape so that he lands safely, and Goku lands too. Goku rushes forward, as Boo drives his own leg into the ground. Boo's leg comes back out of the ground just in front of Goku, kicking him in the face. Goku does multiple backflips to get away from the leg, as it keeps trying to kick him. Boo fires a huge blast at Goku, but Goku teleports away, and kicks Boo in the face. Boo then elbows Goku, and they begin exchanging a flurry of blows.

Goku hopes Vegeta can hold out, but he apparently can't. Goku says it's already been more than a minute, but he still can't wipe out Buu. Buu kicks Vegeta and sends him flying, then stretches out his arm and wraps it around Vegeta's neck. Vegeta is choking, and Goku has no idea what to do. Suddenly though, Satan calls Buu out. He delivers a lengthy promo about being the World Fighting Champion. Buu drops Vegeta, and turns his attention to Satan. Buu flies toward him, preparing to attack, and Satan is scared, even though this is a dream. Satan ducks and covers, and Buu misses him. Goku is kind of impressed with Satan. Buu suddenly stops, looking like he's in extreme pain, and begins clutching his head. Satan figures Buu is afraid, and begins laughing.
"Kakarrot... An amazing guy, you are... That Majin Boo, he was an opponent I could not stand up to at all... The only one who can fight him is you... I have a hunch that you somehow know it... Why is it that I, who should be a genius, am unable to compete with you..." Boo kicks Goku. "I thought it was because you had things you wanted to protect..." Goku hits Boo with a small blast. "I thought your strong will to protect brought forth mysterious powers... I think that was certainly there, but now I have that same thing... I fought for the sake of my way of thinking, for my pleasure, for killing my enemies, and for my pride..." Boo bites Goku's arm.

"But he is different... He does not fight to win. He fights so that he absolutely will not lose, continually overcoming his limits...! That is why taking an opponent's life is not a priority for him... He did not even kill me..." Goku locks Boo in a headlock and bites him on the head. "As though he completely knew that I would come to be a person with a bit of a heart for people as I am now... It pisses me off...!" Boo tries to zap Goku with his forelock, but Goku jumps over it. "A gentle Saiyan who loves fighting, how can that be...!!" Goku blasts Boo. "Give it your best, Kakarrot... You are number one!!"

Goku shields himself against a large Kamehameha from Boo, and Satan thinks this is a really intense dream. Boo thinks he has won, when suddenly another Kamehameha shoots up from the smoke, and blows Boo to smithereens. When the smoke clears, it is Goku, who says, "Dumbass!! This was a real Kamehameha!!" Goku is mad that Boo's physical strength never drops no matter what you do to him, and he can always restore himself to be as good as new. Vegeta goes over to Goku, and Goku hopes it is not time to switch out. Vegeta says Goku never intended to switch out at all. Vegeta says Boo is certainly strong beyond imagination, but so is Kakarrot. He tells him to go all out and finish Boo. Goku had thought he could, but he has not gotten the chance yet. He needs a minute to gather his ki. Goku wishes they had not destroyed the Potara. Boo begins to reform again, mocking them, and so Vegeta says he will give him that one minute he needs.

"Vegeta and Kakarrot" is the five hundred and tenth chapter of the Dragon Ball manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the 1995 #15 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.

Summary
