Planet Shamo is a fictional planet in the world of Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama as depicted in the eighth Dragon Ball Z theatrical film. It was depicted as one of the planets conquered by Broli with its population enslaved to serve in Paragus's new empire. The planet was subsequently destroyed by Broli as punishment for the slaves from that world rebelling against their control.
General Overview
Planet Shamo is a twin-planet to New Planet Vegeta, orbiting the same star and close enough that they were visible from each other even during the day. The planet was home to the Shamosians, a race of green-skinned aliens. Sometime between Age 737 and 767, the planet was conquered by Paragus and Broli, its population taken as slaves to adjacent New Planet Vegeta. In Age 767, Broli destroyed the planet as punishment for the slaves rebelling against their masters. It is likely that this action was pointless as Shamo would have been destroyed by the passing Comet Gumori a few hours later.
Son Goku and his friends met a young Shamosian with the same name as the planet, but the significance of this (if any) was not elaborated on in the film.[1]
