A9 is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) arranged by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1986. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 2 which was broadcast on 05 March 1986.

Overview

A9 is a Kikuchi arrangement of the opening song "Mystical Adventure!" composed by Takashi Ike. Kikuchi's arrangement features a banjo melody that gives the piece the feel of the frontier. The full composition is part b of the suite entitled "The Wild Boy", which is track #13 on both the Ongakushū record and disc #2 of the Daizenshuu.

A9 is given the title "Goku Leaves With Umigame" on kenisu's Magicant, the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-34 based on its placement in the series.
