A9 is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) arranged by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1986. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 2 which was broadcast on 05 March 1986.

Overview

A9 is a Kikuchi arrangement of the opening song "Mystical Adventure!" composed by Takashi Ike. Kikuchi's arrangement features a banjo melody that gives the piece the feel of the frontier. The full composition is part b of the suite entitled "The Wild Boy", which is track #13 on both the Ongakushū record and disc #2 of the Daizenshuu.

A9 is given the title "Goku Leaves With Umigame" on kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-34 based on its placement in the series.
