J17-B is the official catalogue number of a piece of background music (BGM) composed by Shunsuke Kikuchi for the Dragon Ball anime in 1986. The piece debuted in Dragon Ball Episode 3 which was broadcast on 12 March 1986.
Overview
J17-B marks the debut of Kikuchi's Turtle Hermit theme. The full composition is part b of the suite entitled "Funky Turtle Hermit", which is track #06 on both the Ongakushū record and disc #2 of the Daizenshuu.
J17-B is given the title "Kame Sennin's First Scene" on kenisu's Magicant,[1] the most common source for fan titles of Kikuchi's compositions. The piece was assigned the Kanzenshuu catalogue number of K-39 based on its placement in the series.
