- This article is about "Do Your Best, Tanuki-kun!", originally published as the 209th chapter of Dr. Slump in Weekly Shōnen Jump. For "Torahachirō's Paddybird", see Dr. Slump Chapter 210.
"Do Your Best, Tanuki-kun!" is the two hundred and ninth chapter of the Dr. Slump manga series by Akira Toriyama. It was first published in Japan in the 1984 #12 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump.
This chapter was published as the two hundred and twenty-first chapter in all collected volumes. It was moved to Tankōbon Volume 18 in order to avoid splitting up the six-part story "Youth on the Run" at the end of Tankōbon Volume 17, and all subsequent collected volumes followed suit though the opposite effect resulted in the kanzenban edition.

田宮の模型C(コンテスト)のしめ切り近し。漫画もあり時間が足りない!!<明>
The deadline for Tamiya's model-building contest is close. But I've got my comic too, so I don't have enough time!
This is the model-modification contest that Toriyama would eventually go on to win in 1986. This year, Toriyama's assistant Takashi Matsuyama would win third prize.
